Overall I was quite unsatisfied...
Liked: Staff were wonderful, welcoming and always happy to help.
Disliked: There was an odd smell in the room. The wear and tear of the room was obvious and lived in. The sink was leaking all over the vanity, lower self and floor. Sold out of the robes for the 4 days of my stay. The towels with rough, stained and old. The water turned off for a few hours and was brown when turned back on.

Liked: The staff were so friendly and helpful, great location and nice decor
Disliked: My room in particular had sticky / wet floors and I could hear dripping throughout the night. There was a leak through the walls onto the floor which created a puddle of water. Couldn’t figure out the heater system, and there weren’t any extra blankets in the cupboards

Keep you shoes on in...
Liked: Good location.
Disliked: Just terrible. An overpriced disappointment of a hotel. I’ve stayed in cleaner motels. Sticky carpets, stained bloody quilts sandwiched between two sheets on the beds, stains on walls, couches, even the roof… the lack of love in this place is just so disappointing. The IT system can’t support the multiple TVs in each room, so your stuck with free-to-air TV rather than the advertised casting or streaming. Housekeeping is patchy, trash no taken out one day, no tidying of beds the next, and no replenishment of tea coffee or minibar. A refurb and some smiling and happy staff and it could be one of the CBD’s finest. Instead it is so bad we left a night early (we still paid for the extra night) - the staff didn’t ask why…typical of the lack of care for guests. So cheap free lollies and bottom of the shelf free beer and wine for a couple of hours a day, which you won’t want more than one of (if that), can’t make up for the sour taste left if your mouth from this place. Avoid!

A Sticky Situation in The...
Liked: The desk staff were magnificent and couldn't be faulted. They were friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location in Melbourne's vibrant laneways is fantastic, close to great dining, bars, and attractions – perfect for frequent travelers like us who enjoy exploring the city. The reception staff were fantastic.
Disliked: I recently stayed at the Ovolo Laneways in Melbourne, booking the penthouse suite on a whim for a work trip.The rate was around $700 a night, discounted from the average rack rate of approximately $900. While there were some highlights, overall, the experience fell short of expectations for a high-end suite at this price point, and it's unfortunately the last time we'll choose this hotel.The room itself had numerous issues that made the stay frustrating, especially for a penthouse where you expect all the bells and whistles to work flawlessly.The most aggravating problem was the floor, which was incredibly sticky throughout.We quickly noticed what appeared to be a spilled wine stain under the kitchen bench – clearly missed by cleaners and then spread around the room.After unpacking, we headed out for dinner and informed the front desk staff. The girl on duty was kind enough to say she'd handle it herself since there were zero cleaning staff on site at the time.We returned about two hours later to a room reeking of bleach and a floor that was only semi-cleaned. The original spill was gone, but the stickiness lingered everywhere. We tried to ignore it and walked around in socks that night.The next morning, we requested another clean, and even after they claimed to double-check, it was still sticky. By the third request, we gave up and resorted to wiping it down ourselves with wet towels – absolutely insane for the price we paid.Other issues compounded the disappointment:1: The outdoor furniture was very dated, with broken decking and a broken chair that made the balcony unusable.2: The TV remote was barely functional and sticky, which was off-putting.3: The lounge curtains wouldn't close properly, affecting privacy and light control.

Location and comfort
Liked: Very friendly staff. Excellent location for theatre, sports, public transport, and great food.. Spacious rooms. Lolly bar was a hit with our group.
