Overlook Lodge and Stone Cottages at Bear Mountain

Liked: We loved the historic buildings and the history of the lodge. We also enjoyed the outdoors activities which can be undertaken and the fact that you feel as if you are hundreds of miles outside the city.

Liked: The location was great. We liked the small intimate sitting room. Staff was very attentive.
Disliked: There was no climate control for our room-and it was on the cold side.

Historic,but needs attention

Liked: The area around Bear Mountain is a great natural outdoor setting for recreational use.
Disliked: The place is old and needs more updating, maintenance and care. Although there is a lake down below the hill where the stone cottages sit, the access point to the lake trail is about 1000 ft away by a busy main road.Also, the stone cottages are more like dorm style with 6 rooms to a cottage and a shared open space. They are not individual cottages.
