A lovely rustic, yet modern...

Liked: The Outpost Inn was an exceptional, unexpected, and healing experience for me. I headed there on a whim from the Charlotte area to mend a broken heart. I had never been to the area and picked the Inn because of the outdoor fire pit, honestly! The experience was so much more than that. It was just what I needed. The hostess upon arrival, a lovely young woman who greeted me and made me feel welcome and right at home. The decor of the main living room/bar/check-in area was so tastefully done, warm, and welcoming. It's a place I could envision living. I did not want to leave! I met some very kind women at the bar for some great bonding time. Again, just what I needed, and I hope to return soon!
Disliked: Adding a light breakfast would have been a nice addition.

Liked: What a wonderful find! The remodeling done over the past couple years looks great, the rooms have a great feel, the whole property has a relaxed vibe, the staff is casual and friendly, and there are many places inside and out to lounge and relax. Many little touches, both decorative and provided, make it feel home-y in the mountains. Walkable to town, though it's more likely you'd take the short drive. The king bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom well appointed. And the price was very fair. Unquestionably, we would return here when in Highlands.
