Wonderful, walkable and welcoming

Liked: This is a beautiful, rustic property that is decorated in 1960’s vintage folk and Appalachia style. The owners go the extra mile to make guests feel a warm welcome by turning the lights on in the room, proving a s’mores kit, free and a paid coffee bar, banana bread and a wood burning stove in the lobby. The bed was comfortable. The soaps and shampoos were natural and scented with essential oils. There was a coffee bar and fridge in room with available snacks for purchase. It is within walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. It is important to note that there are sidewalks and pedestrian crossings from the property to the town! Sometimes a property can be close to town and “walking distance” but really be unwalkable due to the lack of sidewalks and the journey being on the shoulders of dangerously curvy mountain roads.
Disliked: It was a little hard to find places to put stuff due to all of the decorations. The bathroom did not have any countertops. There is very low lighting in the room. The AC light shined in my eyes all night. However, besides the AC light all of the other dislikes are more like individual preferences. My husband loved the low lighting.

Liked: Great location and unique atmosphere.
Disliked: Not much room to hang clothes - our room had 3 hooks on the wall, but it was fine.

Liked: Themed so purposefully and cute! Mountain laurel blooming on every terrace of the property with cafe lights, cozy campfires, s’mores kit, deer head above the bed, beautiful bathroom tile, fabulous coffee and wine.
Disliked: We just need a few little things like a real trash can with a plastic liner and a more comfortable chair to sit in. And there was so much rustling our last night there has to have been a mouse. The side tables at the bed were adorable but they had sloped tops and our drink slipped off and my earrings kept falling on the floor. So well thought out decor-wise it’s the little things that made it for us but the little things that we didn’t like also.

Disliked: Difficult to engage staff in any discussion,local recommendations,or directions

Highly recommendable to stay a...

Liked: We had an overall wonderful stay in Outpost Inn. Very comfortable beds with a fireplace to warm it up when needed. I would like to highlight the great service received from all personnel, always very kind and supportive with all requests we had.
Disliked: Price was a little bit high considering that breakfast was not included. You could order a coffee and some breakfast there separately, but the standar coffee was over 7 us dollars.
