Good and not overly expensive...
Liked: Great place to stay if you're looking for a cheaper accommodation in NYC. The location is good (its in an artsy area and perfect for a younger crowd, since its surrounded by bars and restaurants). Short walk to the subway. The lady in reception was incredibly helpful and kind. The room (even though it was incredibly compact) was perfect for my boyfriend and myself as we just needed a room to sleep in between busy days in the city; the room was also very clean too. The $100 deposit they took was transferred immediately back into my account once we checked out.
Disliked: Since we only stayed a night there's very few things I can fault the room on. The only downers was that in the bathroom, there was no actual bar of soap or body wash, only small bottles of shampoo and body lotion (again, not the end of the world) and that the shower curtain didn't stop the water from leaving the shower so our bathroom floor was full of water when we got out of the shower.

Liked: There?s a lot of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, bus stations and even banks so location was the best. Daily housekeeping so it is always clean and comfortable bed.
Disliked: The AC didn?t work properly, staff were friendly but not very flexible. Wifi wasn?t too great.

Liked: The view and the access to metro station nearby
Disliked: Room size is too small. The pictures shown over booking.com is very different from the actual, apart from the view. There is only one lift means you have to wait if you are frequently going in an out. By using Covid as an excuse room service is only available upon request.

Disliked: We?ve stayed here before and loved it but since the lockdown they are clearly struggling to get back to business. We wanted to give them a break, it?s been hard I?m sure, all round, but especially for any independent company in the service industry, so the TV being out for the last week and no fix in sight was set aside as being the price of getting up and running again. When the lady at the front desk told us she didn?t like wearing masks but she was young so it didn?t matter so much, let?s just say that tested our goodwill. When the elevator went out in this eleven story hotel, we gave up. Two times up and down nine stories was too much, and when the front desk shrugged and said they thought it may be fixed tomorrow, but it had gone out the previous week and hadn?t come back on for three days we were down. A pity, but they won?t last long in New York like this, and a lot of work must have gone in to getting the place set up. That said, we won?t be staying here again. The Frederick down the road is great if you want to be in the Bowery/LES.

Quiet, nice view...
Liked: Room had a view to Allen St, but was fairly quiet, even with the window open (I am noise-tolerant, in general, though. Also it was on the 4th (5th?) floor).Good AC! (however, it was west-facing, and I did not have a chance to see how well it fared in the afternoon sun - which would have been the real test).Room was small - slightly bigger than the bed; not a place to hang out, really. But it is ok, as I just wanted to sleep (did not even use the wifi).Overall, very pleased!
Disliked: The pillows were insanely soft, hence not comfortable at all (but then again, I do not like even the ones I got at home. So I went in knowing I would not like them. Still, they were among the worse I have ever had).
