Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and Opus Vancouver delivers. You're just a 15-minute walk from major venues, plus the Canada Line SkyTrain is only 125 feet away—ideal for late-night transport after encore sets. The 24-hour room service and flexible 12:00 PM checkout make it easy to recover from a late night. Plus, the electric vibe in the lobby and bar area keeps the energy going long after the show ends.

  • Budget-conscious music fans who appreciate value in the little extras like free valet for green cars

La Pentola, the on-site restaurant, serves up Northern Italian fare all day, and room service runs 24/7—a major plus after a late gig. For those who like to keep the party going, Opus Bar offers cocktails and a lively atmosphere. Whether you want a 2 AM bite or a late breakfast the next day, you're covered. Areas for Improvement

If you're a light sleeper, the energetic street-side rooms might pick up some nightlife buzz—request a courtyard-facing room for a quieter stay. Also, while the vibe is fun and modern, it may not be ideal for those seeking ultra-serene surroundings.

Very poor

Liked: I am writing this review after a very distressing experience with OPUS Vancouver. My son, who was traveling alone due to the airline strike, arrived at the hotel with a confirmed reservation made through Booking.com. He had a valid online card, but no physical card with him.The hotel refused to let him stay, insisting on a physical card for the deposit — even though neither their Booking.com listing nor their own website ever mentioned that only physical cards would be accepted. The term used everywhere is simply “valid credit card.” My son’s card was valid, and the night before he had stayed at another hotel with the exact same card without any problem. What was most disappointing was not just the refusal itself, but the complete lack of care or flexibility in such an urgent situation. A hotel should above all care for its guests’ well-being and find solutions when circumstances are exceptional. Sometimes policies need to be applied with humanity and common sense. In this case, they chose to strictly enforce a condition that was never even disclosed, leaving a young traveler alone, stressed, and without accommodation.Yes, eventually they agreed to refund the booking, but that does not erase the fact that they failed to act as a place of hospitality when it mattered most. Hospitality is not about hiding behind policies — it is about supporting guests, especially in moments of difficulty.I feel it is important to warn future travelers: if you face any unusual circumstance, this hotel will not step up to support you. They will simply turn you away. For that reason, I cannot recommend OPUS Vancouver and would urge others to choose a hotel that truly cares for its guests.

Very disappointing experience over a...

Liked: Location, easy access to Canada Line
Disliked: Our stay was unfortunately marked by poor service and frustrating experiences throughout. The hotel appeared unprepared for the long weekend, with staff citing how "busy" it was as an excuse for inadequate service.Basic standards weren’t met—our in-room fridge hadn’t been cleaned and still contained old food from a previous guest. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. We waited over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated, then sat for another 15 minutes without anyone taking our order or offering water or coffee. After 20 minutes, we gave up and ordered from the Starbucks down the street. Even then, no staff ever came to check on us. Several tables nearby were also without food, and other guests told us they had been waiting over 30 minutes.Despite breakfast being included in our stay, we couldn’t afford to waste two hours waiting for a meal. When we raised these concerns with the front desk, we were told “it won’t happen again”—a hollow reassurance at that point. Overall, service was subpar, staff were clearly undertrained, and management seemed unprepared for the weekend. Very disappointing for what should have been a relaxing getaway
