Opal Grand Oceanfront Resort & Spa

Liked: I love this property. From how AMAZING and friendly all the staff are and professional to the beautiful entry way once you walk-in. The staff almost leap to help you and offer water, if I could alone rave about how fantastic the staff are- huge kudos to them! The property feels new and clean. You can’t beat the location, right across from the beach. They have everything you could ever need, from a convenient food/coffee/snack shop, gym, drift restaurant (loved the pizza) and a hot tub. You can also use the laundry service. Let me not forget the Tammy Fender spa attached to the Opal- now that is a relaxation experience all on its own. Best massage I think I have ever had and got to enjoy the infrared sauna after my massage. It was a wonderful stay and I am now a huge fan of the Opal.

Liked: The hotel was beautiful and our room was comfortable. The staff were amazing. We really appreciated the proximity to the beach and the ability to go back and forth.
Disliked: The pool was a small for the amount of people that were there. In addition, I would not go back to Drift restaurant, though the service was nice, the food was salty and not the best.

Pleasant

Liked: The location was great, the section of the hotel that we were in the rooms were not worth the price. We had to move rooms due to a smell, and our room was degraded and put right outside of a very public area.

Disliked: The pool area was extremely busy. The staff were good about finding you a spot but the guests secure their spots early and just rest their towels for he day!

Ok, but not the quality...

Liked: The room was ok so small. The "balcony" was a joke as it wasn't even wide enough to fit the chair properly. The lobby and pools were nice
Disliked: The only food that was any good was the one in the cafe. Breakfast at Monkey Bar, snacks at Elevate and dinner at Driftwood (exception were the mussels) had no taste at all and was way overpriced for the quality. Had a cockroach in our room. For a hotel that bills itself as high end, it needs a bit more maintenance i.e. on the outside of the building at the small pool, the elevators etc.
