Onich Hotel

Lovely accommodation with spectacular views...

Liked: Lovely pod accommodation…… with private decking and balcony surround …… we were able to park alongside our pod which was excellent because we had a tent box on the car !! Bed was very comfortable , plenty of sockets for charging and all your electronics and a smart tv you can get your own Netflix on etc ….. decent fridge with ice box at the top and a microwave and small hon - so you can certainly put together a meal if you want to……. But the most awesome thing was the view up the length of the loch!!!! It was totally awesome !!!! The breakfast was well worth having…… it was fresh and tasty and we both enjoyed it!! Plus the staff were helpful and friendly ….. All in all it is a lovely place to stay!!!
Disliked: One thing that is needed is a mirror in the living area so you can use a hairdryer !!!! The mirror in the bathroom does not have a socket that reaches the mirror …… The other thing was the beach seemed accessible to anyone - which meant having to keep blinds shut in the pod in case we could be seen changing etc etc one way privacy film would be good idea……Lastly the shower was good but the drainage was slow and as a result the water flooded over the shower tray and leaked all over the floor …. We used our towels to clear it up!!! Has we been there more than one night we would have informed the staff!! Cause we would have needed clean towels……

Returned for the 5th time...

Exceptional

Fantastic location

Liked: Onich hotel amazes you on arrival - its location right on the edge of the water is simply stunning. Every time we parked our car we were compelled to take the time to take some pictures. The interior is perhaps a bit outdated but still presents well, and the same applies to the room we stayed in. A large, comfortable room with everything you need (bonus: smelled lovely).Would book again, this time a room with a view or the pods on the beach!
Disliked: The only improvement I would suggest is to the bathroom, there's almost no storage/place to set down some products or personal items, although there's certainly room for a little shelf or something similar. We could also hear quite a bit of noise coming from the corridors but to be fair a bus load of people was staying at the hotel at the same time as us.

Stunning location

Liked: The location is stunning! We definitely got Scotland in the best week as I kept getting told it's not normally like this haha. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Outside bar area is also great in the sunshine. Every staff member we encountered was lovely too.
Disliked: The sofa bed needs replacing. It was very uncomfortable and it was the only seat we could sit in to watch TV. There was no table (like pictured) outside on decking but we used the stools from inside.

Liked: The location was absolutely stunning, over looking the loch and the perfect sunshine weather to appreciate the views and setting definitely help to see everything in its best light! The beach pods we stayed in were well equipped and spacious enough, with all mod-cons, including a good size bathroom and walk in shower, WiFi, electric, TV etc. The terrace was good size to sit out and had lovely exterior lighting for the evening. The restaurant and bar was good, and had a good choice of food and drinks for an evening meal. All staff were helpful, and friendly and reception was very welcoming. We stayed as a group of four friends and all loved our stay here and would certainly return and would also recommend. Overall a fantastic stay.
Disliked: Only have a few issues that we would like to make you aware of, nothing that distracted from our holiday, purely for your future reference; 1. We only had one large towel and one small hand towel and no bath mat when we arrived (our friends in next pod had two lots of towels and bathmat), maybe a slight oversight when preparing the pod, and no real problem to go to reception and ask for them but should have been checked initially.2. Both terraces need cleaning. We couldn't use the white plastic chairs as they were covered in sticky bits off the tress and terrace was the same, there was also a can left under one chair, again a quick sweep and/or mop of terraces and wipe of chairs would have been better. 3. Although a fairly good choice for breakfast, there was limited fruit, only an organge or apple, nothing else and would have been nice to have precut fruit available. Not a major issue just an observation. 4. Although there were cups, glasses and cutlery etc in the pods, we had no cloth or towel to dry washed items with, another observation foe future reference.

Would stay here again

Liked: The location was great. It was nice to overlook the water for the morning and evening. The breakfast was tasty and fresh. I enjoyed our room and the towel warmer was a nice touch.

Disappointing

Liked: The location was 20 minutes from Fort Williams and the view is nice on the lake the stuff we’re friendly
