Disliked: Cost of parking car.

We decided to upgrade to the Club floors and it was well worth it. They offered free wine etc. and appetizers every night and a nice breakfast in the morning. Sunday, the hostess at the Club in the evenings made dinner reservations for us and had the bakery send me a birthday treat.
Liked: Location and room comfort; friendliness of staff.
Disliked: Price of parking; TV reception in Club Lounge.

Liked: The desk staff and concierge were terrific. The location is super for all the downtown activities. The rooms are nice enough and extremely quiet.
Disliked: Some of the furnishings are getting worn and need remodeling. The bar is insufficient and needs better staff. Drinks are very costly.

Overpriced, un-secured floors & outdated...
Liked: Restaurant staff was excellent and went out of their way to make GF pancakes that were not on the menu. Overall the GF menu was good. Appears there are some more GF options than what is on the menu so be sure to ask.
The free rides in the SUV where a great help getting around when they were available.
Nice to have tub and shower. Valet and doormen extremely friendly. However, car driver's seat had stain on it after dropping off once.
Disliked: The bathroom is showing wear on the walls and shower. The tub drained extremely slowly. The electrical outlets on the nightstand are painfully dated and didn't work well/need to be replaced with a new combo plug/USB outlets. Plugs had to be jiggled just right to get them to work in the outlets and didn't stay connected if slightly bumped, so sometimes after charging all night your devices weren't charged. A good portion of the guests seemed to smoke marijuana as at least half the time we were in the elevator or in the drive up we smelled it. We had to move rooms as the smell of pot coming from adjacent room was so bad. Management never said they fixed the situation/source. After moving rooms we found out the plug problem is consistent. We found out hard way that our room door lock was schedule for replacement (along with all locks on floor above and below) as we were awakened by construction sounds at 9am and then the following day as well with the actual lock replacement that required access to the room. When calling the front desk to inquire they simply said there is a letter on your desk explaining the construction. Half of the elevators are also under repair - neither of these construction activities are disclosed on the hotel website. The free rides in the SUV are only available half the time, especially during peak times such as dinner, so don't count on them. Website says free rides within 3.1 miles but actually only 3 miles (noted minor difference). The hotel is located on the top of a hill, so walking to/from can be difficult. Biggest problem I see is one night I was approached in the Noe bar area by a vagrant begging for money. This is very disturbing as the elevator DOES NOT require key card access - so this individual could have easily been roaming the halls of the hotel. Overall the staff did an exceptional job trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible in a dated facility.
