Modern comfort meets classic motel charm at Olympia Lodge, a cozy and budget-friendly option located right off the Trans-Canada Highway. Nestled next to Shouldice Park and just 6 miles from downtown Calgary, this lodge offers easy access to the city’s top music venues while giving you a peaceful place to crash after the encore.

With free Wi-Fi, wood-furnished rooms, and essential in-room amenities like a microwave and mini-fridge, Olympia Lodge is a solid pick for concert-goers who want convenience without the frills.

Why Concert-goers love it

Located only 3 miles from Canada Olympic Park and a short drive to Calgary’s downtown venues, Olympia Lodge makes getting to your show quick and easy. The 24-hour reception means late-night returns are no problem, and the motel’s quiet residential setting offers a peaceful night's sleep post-show. Free parking and access to major roads also make ride-shares and late-night transport stress-free.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list artist without breaking the bank
  • Couples wanting a simple spot to unwind after a night out
  • Fans needing quiet after a high-energy show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who care more about location than luxury

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, each room comes with a microwave and mini-fridge—perfect for post-show snacks. Several casual dining spots and takeout options are a short drive or ride-share away. Though there’s no breakfast buffet, early risers can grab a bite at nearby cafés or stock up on essentials from local stores.

Nightlife Options

Olympia Lodge isn’t a nightlife hotspot itself, but that’s the appeal for many. It offers a quiet crash pad after a big night out. If you're still buzzing post-show, downtown Calgary’s bars, lounges, and late-night eats are just a quick drive away.

What People Say

Reviews often mention the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the unbeatable value for the price. Guests appreciate the quiet location, ample parking, and proximity to parks and concert venues. Many say it’s a no-fuss, reliable spot to sleep after a night on the town.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the rooms and decor are a bit dated, and there’s no luxury feel here. There’s also no breakfast or restaurant on-site, so plan ahead for meals. But for the price and location, most say it’s a fair trade-off.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a clean, quiet, and budget-friendly place to recharge after the show, Olympia Lodge hits the right note.

Horendous

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Its was really crap to say the least. Would exspect this from a 80$ a night the only window we had had a brick wall just a foot a away with garbage everywhere out there. Not really a safe fire exscape if the door area were to catch fire. Woke up early to leave and had some street worker or something sleeping in the stairway olright outside our room. It was a shack to say the least.

It's hard to believe this...

Liked: No breakfast. Terrible smell. Very dirty. Way over priced. Didn't return my deposit. Screaming and yelling outside. Loud TV next door at 6am. Place needs to be shut down.
Disliked: Nothing

Top to bottom, start to...

Liked: Leaving
Disliked: Start to finish, this experience was absolutely disgusting. Front office door was nasty dirty and partially broken. Stairs and balcony floor felt like I'd fall through with busted wood and carpet. Room next to mine had plywood over the window and garbage all over. My door was loose and the deadbolt nearly didn't lock, had to pull the door way up to latch it. Carpet was dirty, stained and wet, had to wear my shoes walking everywhere. Stains and lots of dirt on all furniture, most of which was tattered and broken. TV screen was partially broken. Light fixtures loose and full of bugs. No batteries in the open, moldy and dusty smoke detector. Bathroom sink was cracked and broken and there were paint chips and drywall/paint dust in the bathtub drain. No cover on the thermostat so I couldn't adjust the temperature. Heavy mold on the air conditioner and in the fridge. Bed partially caved in when I laid on it and the sheets were littered with cigarette burns and stains. Thin walls made sleeping even more difficult being able to hear those in the next room yelling at one another. Bad location, constant noise. At check out, another patron mentioned they should fumigate as there were bugs in her room and she was shrugged off by the disrespectful attendant. This was the worst lodging experience I've ever had, and I've spent time in jail, in a homeless shelter and on the streets for a short time. I would have been better off bringing a tent and sleeping in a park, could have saved the outrageously high $80 fee and slept more comfortable and safer. Not only will I not recommend this place to anyone, I would advise everyone to avoid it.
