Superb
Liked: Great location. City center. Walkable and close to bus stops.
Disliked: Didn't expect stairs going into the hotel and back down (within the room). This was not well described on the website. Not a good location if accessibility considerations. Otherwise room was very nice and great value.

Rather disappointing.
Liked: Leaving
Disliked: Possibly the most dissapointing hotel I stayed in this decade. Perhaps a nice hotel if you have never been to a hotel before. The rooms are overheated and without AC opening a window is the only option. But the drunk punters roaming the street make sleeping impossible. This place needs more than a lick of paint. Internet is weak. I could go on. But I think you know what to do, browse on and book somewhere else.

Tired and in need of...
Liked: It was very clean. It was central to the City with access to all shops, train station, gardens etc.The carpeting throughout the communal areas was very good. The receptionist was reactive not proactive with information.
Disliked: The bedroom was enormous. No carpet! Laminated floor. No rugs. Very tired furniture and not suitable for the grand architectural features. The large windows overlooking prince's Street had good curtains however, it was nit possible to have daylight in the room when wearing dressing gown. The windows need voils. The menu was very limited and the choice of dishes was outdated and not seasonal. Who wants beef casserole in the summer? The staff were pleasant.I think £290 per night per room is extortionate and would expect a much higher standard.

An old hotel in a...
Liked: The property had charm, and was conveniently located close to everything on Princes Street. I did not eat at the restaurant but I briefly walked into there restaurant and lounge area, which was beautiful. The hotel room was very clean.
Disliked: Perhaps I missed it in the write up as a warning, but the hotel had quite a bit of stairs to navigate to get into the reception and then more stairs up to the elevator itself. (We were on the 6th floor). I have slightly mobility issues, and had a heavy suitcase. It it an old building- if someone was in a wheelchair, they would not be able to navigate this. Our room was a bit dated but fine, nice bathroom and it was clean, no issues there. But our room faced the back alley of the hotel where they do all the garbage collecting throughout the night. The window we had was a charming old round window (that looked into the office building behind us - but I did choose the cheapest room) there was a single panel of glass, and that did not block any noise whatsoever, despite closing it. I got a truly terrible night’s sleep.

Liked: Only location
Disliked: Shabby. Should explain about the stairs before someone books.
