We were happy with all...
Liked: Nicely decorated rooms, high ceilings, comfortable beds, good snack menu, excellent breakfasts, good parking. We learned in a local Wem restaurant that the Old Rectory has a good reputation in town, and we can endorse that for ourselves.
Disliked: Apart from the weather, we're happy as it is. Keep the very good staff if you can!

A real gem.
Liked: Lovely building in beautuful grounds. Spotlessly clean, a good breakfast and the staff were really nice. One lady, (Kate(?), went above abd beyond as despite covering reception, bar, some housekeeping and catering duties, she always had a smile, a kind word and, genuinely, nothing was too much troubleThe location is in eaay striking distance of Shrewsbury, Attingham Park and a number of other towns and attractions.Good old school hospitality with a personal touch making you feel a welcome guest and not an anoymous customer.Really enjoyed the stay
Disliked: In the hotel, if I were to be really critical the bath coukd have benefitted from a minor repair to the enamel and the taps and shower could do with upgrading but these weren't major issues.

A lovely hotel!!
Liked: The location is perfect. The secluded gardens are immaculately kept and beautifully landscaped. The hotel is charming and our room was spacious, elegant & perfectly appointed. Likewise, all public areas are elegant and maintained to a very high standard. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. All in all, we felt that this hotel deserved a much higher rating than its current 3 stars (which is due, we understand, to its not having a lift or 24 hour room service). We personally felt it deserves a minimum of 4 stars. Would highly recommend!
Disliked: Nothing!

A very relaxing stay in...
Liked: Lovely building, facilities and staff. The lounge, bar area and gardens were very nice spaces to relax in addition to the bedroom. Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout.
Disliked: The breakfast arrangements, where everything has to be ordered via the server, was OK but not very efficient and it was difficult to get exactly what we wanted without waste or multiple requests. For example, we didn’t know exactly how much fruit we wanted until after the cereal, how much fruit juice until after the coffee, similarly with the toast etc. The staff were brilliant and responded to every request, but a buffet style approach, at least for the cereal, fruit, yoghurt would have been much easier for everyone. I can see why this was done during the TheCovid era, but that was quite a few years ago now.
