The Spotlight on Old Northside Bed & Breakfast

Charming, Historic & Close to the Music

Old Northside Bed & Breakfast offers a cozy, character-filled stay in a beautifully restored Victorian home just north of downtown Indianapolis. Located in a peaceful residential neighborhood, it's a quiet retreat that's still close to the city's vibrant music and cultural scene. With uniquely decorated rooms, a welcoming vibe, and classic charm, it's perfect for travelers seeking a more personal, relaxed experience than a standard hotel.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're just a 15-minute walk to the Murat Egyptian Room and less than two miles from major venues like Hilbert Circle Theatre and Lucas Oil Stadium. After a show, retreat to a quiet, residential area away from the crowds. The free private parking is a big plus for those driving in for a concert, and the late 4:00 PM check-in gives traveling fans plenty of flexibility. The property also offers a hot tub—perfect for a relaxing soak post-show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a unique, homey place to stay
- Solo travelers treating themselves to a memorable night out
- Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
- Fans who prefer peace and quiet after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want charm and comfort

Food and Drink Options

Wake up to a fresh buffet or American breakfast with warm dishes, flaky pastries, and pancakes—served late enough to recover from a night out. While there's no full restaurant on-site, the snack bar is handy for quick bites. Plus, the location means you're close to a variety of local eateries within walking or short driving distance.

Nightlife Options

While the inn itself is more about winding down than turning up, you’re just minutes from downtown Indy’s best bars, lounges, and live music spots. Whether you want a craft cocktail or a dive bar vibe after the show, you’ll find plenty of options nearby.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly hosts, beautiful period decor, and the cozy, peaceful atmosphere. The homemade breakfast and attention to detail get frequent praise, as does the location—close to everything, but tucked away enough to feel like a true retreat.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the rooms have a more traditional style, which may not be ideal for those seeking modern minimalism. There’s no elevator, so those with mobility concerns may want to request a ground-floor room. And while it’s not a party hotel, that’s exactly what many guests love about it.

The Bottom Line

A peaceful, charming base for concert-goers who want a unique stay close to the action—but far enough to truly unwind.

Great host, great hospitality,

Liked: I don't normally bother leaving reviews, but this one is a *strong recommend* folks. *Book now*, especially if you're coming for a big event, because at these low prices compared to hotels with half the service and with all the repeat business from satisfied customers, *all rooms will be gone soon*.What you get:1. *Great* hospitality: When my car broke down and I couldn't get home from an event, Danny (younger guy with black hair, other host of the place besides Gary, who is older) spent hours picking me up personally from the stadium and taking my whole party out to eat.2. Local hookup for everything: The next day, he found us a trustworthy local mechanic who only charged $80 and fixed our car right up, while helping another guest (who I also made a connection with and got his phone number) build a new computer (after serving up a delicious french toast casserole for breakfast of course). You won't get that level of service from a hotel chain.3. Endless free snacks, huge breakfasts, and good people: So when you stay here, you're not just paying for lodging; you're paying for an amazing host/dedicated local hookup to anything you need in Indy (you will get his cell number and he only sleeps like 3 hours a night), basically unlimited snacks and drinks (all free/included 24/7), access to tons of random stuff around the house, great breakfasts with a huge spread, and probably a great opportunity to make some new friends. (If you're there for a big event, almost everyone else will be there for it too, so it's easy to make connections.) You'll also be sent on your way with tons of treats for your return trip.4. Great location: As a bonus, the place is right near everything. Lucas Oil Stadium, the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Benjamin Harrison estate, the convention center, the Marriott, all of it.5. Clean and cozy: The place is very clean. It has a lot of stuff, but I wouldn't call it cluttered.
Disliked: It's not really a downside, but it is a historic property from the 1800s. If you have any mobility or significant size concerns, I'd call ahead to confirm any accommodations you might need. They will help you get sorted as much as possible.
