Liked: All great, staff were very friendly and helpful, room very comfy, had both breakfast and dinner and food was excellent.stle’ elsewhere in the restaurant.
Disliked: One small note, and it is a note not a complaint, for dinner I was seated at the table in the window, directly adjacent to the kitchen door. Pots & pans clattering, kitchen printer going when a check was sent, kitchen staff conversing, music being played in the kitchen which clashed with the music being played in the restaurant - I must stress this is not a complaint about the kitchen staff, I work in hospitality and catering and these are all the normal sounds of a busy working kitchen! However, as a solo diner, I found the noise extremely distracting in what was otherwise a very restful and relaxing stay!I assumed I was assigned the table as the restaurant was busy with other bookings, however only three or four other tables came and went in the time I was there. I’m sure this was probably just an oversight, so again I’m not at all complaining about particular staff members, but just something to be aware of for this particular table, particularly for solo diners who aren’t conversing with someone else at the table, or on quiet nights when there isn’t much ‘bustle’ elsewhere in the bar/restaurant.

Liked: Had an amazing stay at the loans, staff were very attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. Our puppies were made extremely welcome too. The food was outstanding, we will definitely be returning

Liked: As in most cases the staff of a hotel contribute to either making the stay pleasant or unpleasant. In the case of The Loans Inn they were excellent. A special thanks to Gordon Fulton. Gordon handled our complicated bookings with a smile and was friendly and efficient all through our stay.We shall make The Loans Inn our stop-over location when visiting family in Scotland.Thank you.Mr & Mrs McLean
