Excellent place to stay for...

Liked: Lovely, friendly staff, great food, quiet location. Excellent traditional Inn. Will certainly go again and will recommend to others.
Disliked: The shower cubicle would really have benefitted from a grab rail. My wife is unsteady on her feet and needs one (I also use ours at home). The shower tray was quiet a step up, but in older properties this is understandable. Nice hot shower though!

Liked: Great location in the village, lots of available parking. Great room - spotless and nice comfy bed. The breakfast was good and also dined in the evening.

Amazing and tranquil it ticked...

Liked: I loved Everything it was amazing , staff was really helpful, the food amazing, the Room fabulous and comfortable, and the location quiet which really suited us. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing weekend
Disliked: all good would not of changed a thing

Liked: Very friendly staff, excellent evening meals, good breakfast
Disliked: Would have liked some fresh fruit for breakfast. Also natural yoghurt rather than flavoured.

Great location

Liked: The hotel location is great, in the middle of Broughton. The room was clean and had the facilities expected. The bar food is an advantage and breakfast was adequate.
Disliked: The room was very small with no chair and little storage, the wardrobe being pretty full with equipment. The heating was sporadic and appeared to be off most of the time. We went for a drink at the bar and got admonished for sitting at a table that was reserved, even though there was no sign.

An excellent stay overall.

Liked: The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, freshly cooked and using fresh local ingredients. An excellent choice of cask real ales too, 5 handpulls in use during our stay.

Great value property with great...

Liked: Very good breakfast that set me up for the day, excellent location (with your own transport) for accessing the many attractions in the lake district national park also close to the lovely beaches on the west coast of the area. The owner and staff were very attentive, welcoming to both of us and our dog nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Would definitely consider a return visit
Disliked: Nothing, rooms are small (but clean and comfortable) but that is due to it being a very old building
