Hotel was really good, as was both breakfast and our evening meal. Room spacious and clean. Great location.

Liked: Had a great time all round. Very nice room (with cafetiere + real coffee provided - not just instant!), excellent meal at the pub downstairs. And most importantly, really helpful and friendly staff.

Liked: Great location, cozy atmosphere, fantastic food (ordered special of the day for dinner and great breakfast the next day). A welcoming, safe, friendly place for my children and I after a morning hiking. Some lovely attention to detail like ground coffee and cafetiere in bedroom. Very comfortable 4 poster main bed, crisp sheets and fluffy towels. Very quiet location overnight, despite what I'd read in a previous review. Some great service - young, blonde woman behind the bar couldn't be more friendly and helpful and the two ladies running the breakfast restaurant were so lovely and accomodating. Good wifi signal and parking facilities. Would definitely revisit, very reasonably priced.
Disliked: With three of us sharing a room (me and my two children), I slept on the sofa bed which wasn't very comfortable (main bed was divine, however). The woman who I presume was in charge that I met the next morning was decidedly prickly and unfriendly. This was in stark contrast to the rest of the staff who made up for her manner in bucketfuls.

Liked: We left on the evening booked due to a rock bandThat started at 9 pm. The noise in the bedroom was not conducive to sleep so we left.
Disliked: Someone should have made it clear that a bear festival was being held and that loud bands would be playing when you want to go to bed.

Exceptional

Liked: Brilliant countryside village pub and b&b....clean, pleasant staff, nice room, local amenities and a very good location for a trip to the peak District. Very disappointed they were full for the following night or we would have returned. Must say if ever in the area again I know where to stay.
