Disappointing

Great for an overnight stay

Liked: Easy quick check inn, good parking and comfortable room

Wouldn’t stay again. Better places...

Liked: The property was conveniently located, opposite the university and next to the church for the wedding we were attending.
Disliked: The property is extremely outdated. It is grubby and in serious need of a facelift. The walls are paper thin and the corridors are like a maze that feel like they go on forever. I seriously do wonder who designed that in the first place.

Liked: All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and the bed linen and towels were cleanThe food was fine, but see later*
Disliked: * we felt a little rushed whilst finishing our breakfast on our last day. We went down just after 8, but had a wait to get our cooked food because there was a large party of other guests. As soon as it was 9.00 it seemed we were being rushed to finish our food. Our room decor was very old and dirty, there seemed to be stains down the emulsion on the walls almost as if some liquid had been sprayed around the walls - more noticeable when the artificial lights went on than in daylight,We were at the rear of the building (Room 1). There was a lot of noise around putting out rubbish in the bins at closing time. Plus we think there was a party of students in nearby rooms who arrived back around 1130 both nights and were slamming doors, shouting etc. This went on for 3/4 to an hour. To add to our woes the dustbin men were emptying bins very early the next morning, so we were pretty tired.

Liked: Nice clean room
Disliked: Asked for a room close to stairs as have disabled knees, for them to put me in a room with 5 Stairs into my bathroom, a bit thick, couldn't be bothered to complain

Noisy night

Liked: The closeness to the event we were attending
Disliked: The constant banging of doors that continued way past midnight and into early hours I believe it was the fire door out into the garden but could be wrong, it was incredibly intrusive and kept us awake

Bad

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: The rooms were smelly of urine and extremely out dated

Conveniently placed next to university

Liked: N a
Disliked: Twin room was missing a light bulb above one bed. No fans in twin rooms and the weather was so hot. Only fan in double rooms.
