I recommend the restaurant.
Liked: The Restaurant is fantastic. I would definitely go back to the restaurant.
Disliked: The room furnishings were uncomfortable. The fireplace was very nice.

We'd not rush to return,...
Liked: The setting is pretty good, looking over a small marina and inlet. The catering was good in the evening, we skipped breakfast as we preferred lighter options than offered. The room was clean at eye level, but cobwebs hung from the ceilings.Staff are friendly and enthusiastic;Lots of homegrown produce and self-sufficiency in evidence.
Disliked: The building architecture is 'eclectic' it's a bit like an above-ground bunker - it no doubt devides guests who love or hate it.The hotel is community-run or owned - they try really hard but it's a tired and worn hotel now in need of serious investment. The room had long-term grime and dust - especially the ceiling which had odd patchwork of white paint amongst the yellowed majority. Some of the rooms seem to be let out to longterm guests who decorate the hallway and can be quite noisy. The place closes early - the bar at 9pm, the whole hotel at 10.We visited the bar and kept getting pushed to order food - it turned out the place fills up with older guests wanting the happy hour dining menu - and apparently, we arrived only 10 minutes before the cheap deals ended, As we were planning on eating and had no idea what the rush was - the hotel would have earnt more from us letting us choose form the normal menu. The lovely marina below is unwelcoming to guests - signs prohibit you from even walking down to enjoy the harbour and riverfront. We noticed this a lot in the USA - private property is very much 'private keep out'.
