Apart from those small things,...

Liked: The shower in the room was excellent and the bed was comfortable. the room was clean and tidy.
Disliked: There was no wifi even though it said there was it didn't connect to the TV to log into my Netflix account or connect to our phones. Our room 404 you have to go outside in the rain to get to the reception so we thought instead of getting dressed at midnight to go down to reception we would phone down but there was no phone in the room to phone to reception even though the leaflet said there was and the number to call and when we phoned after midnight from our own mobile to ask the night porter how to work the heating, it told us that no one could take our call and the call cut off. There was no instructions on how to use the heating panel on the wall, you are left to figure it out by yourself so after two hours of going back and forth we by a fluke put the heating on but wasn't sure how we done it. The room was cozy then. Another small thing, as we don't drink coffee there was only three tea bags so we could only have one cup of tea on arrival and only me got to have a cup of tea in the morning. The cups were also mismatched on large one and one medium one. There was also empty biscuits wrappers in the drawer beside the single bed and we only notice them as we were looking for the heating instructions. The blind on the big side window doesn't go up fully so there is not much natural light in the morning but as most people don't spend a whole lot of time in there room it's not a big deal. Also I assume as there is not much of a view from that window is why the blind doesn't go up, so that's understandable. The only reason I've pointed these things out as I've been using Airbnb's over the last two years on trips away as Hotels are so expensive and the places I've stayed make an effort to have wifi if stated, tea coffee, biscuits so this hotel and the price we paid for the night should have had simple things like they describe they have. I still would stay there again as the location is fantastic.

Liked: Location , although weather was poor , would have loved to walk beach weather permitting
Disliked: On arrival , had to ask for relocation of room .. although we had booked Deluxe…. We had paid on arrival our three night stay, no package deal involved … lots of dogs in this hotel , but we could smell dog from our first room , relocation was somewhat better but definitely not four star rating as advertised . Old fashioned shower in bath with shower overhead not safe , no non slip mat provided, no hairdryer in room , again had to ring reception for same , promptly delivered …. Food in bar only , was busy and overpriced for quality we felt.. Generally girls in reception were nice but inexperienced , bar staff trying there best but definitely need some further training to provide service of stars . Our biggest issue were lack of hygiene standards. When we were sitting in Reception for our new room allocation a dog had peed on floor , this was an accident waiting to unfold , he went to reception to report same … a young girl arrived with a mop only and mopped the wee but spread all over , mop no marked or no rinsing of mop, no safety sign put in situ. This is clearly not good hygiene , . My husband spoke to manager and he apologized and offered a free drink… we declined…. This gentleman never made eye contact or spoke to us for the remainder of our stay ….. We checked out a day earlier and were not reimbursed for the overpaid night as girls in reception did not know how to process complaint. The manager will ring you…. Still awaiting call . Over all a very disappointing experience in a beautiful location…. We will not be making this journey of 330klms to stay in this premises .
