comfortable bed, friendly owner, across...

Liked: Our host Russell was accommodating and fun to talk to. We loved the low-key atmosphere and found it to be a charming old house. Bed comfortable. We liked walking to the Cafe du Monde in City park for cafe au lait among the live oaks in the AM. Easy walk across Bayou St John to a cute little business district with some good restaurants (Cafe Degas was nice for brunch). Served by transit (91 bus goes right by). We did walk to the French Quarter, and it was a little over 2 miles and enjoyable. It was a great base for our weekend in new Orleans that was so relaxed compared to staying in the French Quarter.
Disliked: I had no complaints. But if you are a person who needs things to be super fancy, you will not like this place. It is not fancy. It is comfortable, charming, quiet, and a good value.

Nice people and location but...

Liked: Very nice people. Very helpful. Good communication. The bed was very comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower/tub. Good parking. Nice places to visit close by.
Disliked: It was not clean.

A nice place with a...

Liked: Russell was a very attentive host. He responded immediately to every request, even adjusting our breakfast service to an earlier time than normal.
Disliked: The downstairs rooms could have been less cluttered. Also, curtains and blinds were always closed making the interior dim. Given the excellent location across from City Park, we’d have enjoyed the view.
