Besides the couple of things...
Liked: We liked the convenience of the location (we traveled for a birthday which was 90m away from Oaks)The bed & pillows were super comfortable.
Disliked: 1. The bathroom (specifically the toilet) is right next to the side of the bed (there is a wall/sliding door) offering little privacy when using the toilet. We are a couple who lives together but there are somethings that should be kept private.2. We stayed at Oaks because it specifically offered an onsite car park (there is no mention that they only have a specific number of parks for larger vehicles (in our case a ute). Upon arrival we found this out and had to arrange other parking (which turned out better for us because we paid less than we would’ve at the onsite parking). Although it worked out better it caused stress and frustration as this was our first time in Wellington and had no idea where to go - the receptionist at the time found this amusing giggling at our frustration which after a long 7.5 hour drive made us feel worse. 3. We were looking forward to using the gym, however it looks and felt more like a storage room than a gym. There were more tables and chairs stacked against the walls than there was gym equipment.

The hotel, location and most...
Liked: Superb location, right next to the theatre we went to and not a long walk from the waterfront and city bars. The staff were great, so polite and friendly. The room was good, the beds and pillows comfortable and clean. The room service was excellent! We had delicious meals for dinner and breakfast, for a very reasonable $5 extra for delivery to the room.
Disliked: We both missed having luggage shelves or benches of any sort to put our bags on. The bathroom's glass doors might be romantic for a couple but are not so convenient for family or friends sharing a room. It would be nice to have a make-up mirror or more even lighting in the bathroom. The worst part by far, and why I've given the facilities a 2, is the awful mess that was the parking area. We did not know how/where to drop bags and assumed there would be an elevator from the second floor, there was not, so we had to lug our bags down 2 flights of stairs. The luggage drop area was also inaccessible for those exiting. When I tried to find it so we could get our bags easily into the car this time, I found myself suddenly at a dead end and forced to exit, and this was after I checked out, so I didn't have a card to get back in! I had to go around the block and find a park then walk back to the hotel and bring our bags out that way. I don't know if there is much you can do about any of this but PLEASE tell the guest about it - warn them to bring in their bags first, or where the drop-off point is, and warn them to pack the car before checking out.
