Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort

Very disappointing.

Liked: The view and the free shuttle bus were the only things we can Compliment the property on.
Disliked: The reception staff were not friendly or welcoming. The construction noise continued till 10;30pm at night most nights and we had one night with NO hot water. We paid more than we usually do as its been more than 4years since our last holiday and we were expecting much more for the value. Also no restaurant on site due to construction and if we knew this we would not have booked here in the first place.

Liked: The room was fantastic, comfortable and modern with a decent bathroom and shower. Windows that you can open!Small but amazing viewAn easy to use heating/AC system controllerWe appreciated the welcoming and friendly female receptionist we had on Saturday day.
Disliked: The reception staff were rude and borderline sexist to my partner on arrival.There was no convenient area to park your car at reception to unload baggage, instead park at the top of the steep dark driveway.There was no convenient pedestrian access to the hotel from the roadside. It was via a long steep driveway. There isn't nearly enough parking available for guests. Instead we had to park up a steep poorly lit side street

Great location and easy walk...

Liked: Great room with a view. When the extensions are finished it can only go towards further comfort.
Disliked: Shortage of parking, but this could have been due to the new construction.

Beautiful place with no parking...

Liked: The renovations are gorgeous and the view is even better! Absolutely beautiful rooms and comfy beds. Great bathroom facilities. It felt like a home away from home!
Disliked: NO PARKING AND RUDE STAFF. I was so excited to rebook here after staying here numerous times prior to the renovation. Upon arrival, I was bluntly informed that there was no private parking after being told there was and had requested it. This request was somehow not put through and we were told we could park on two different streets that were just a ‘short’ walk away. A hike up a mountain you mean!!!! Private parking was a big reason we chose to stay here. The staff were so rude about this, they had no empathy and treated us like we were trash even though we paid a bit to stay for one night. I said I wouldn’t be back after the way they spoke to me and my family. They replied with “that’s fine if you ever do want to come back, request parking months in advance”. Don’t advertise parking if you don’t have any because it’s being used for the tradies and renovations. A little empathy goes a long way and our stay was ruined before it even begun. I’ve stayed at cheaper places and received better customer service than this. I definitely will not be back which is so gutting because it’s beautiful.Being woken up in the morning with the renovations still happening which I was unaware until a message an hour before check-in
