The Spotlight on Oakmont Inn

Peaceful Comfort Just Outside the City Buzz

Modern yet cozy, Oakmont Inn offers a quiet, comfortable stay in Verona, PA—just over 10 miles from Pittsburgh’s top university districts and music venues. This charming bed and breakfast is set in a peaceful garden setting, perfect for unwinding after a high-energy concert. Expect clean, air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and even patios for a breath of fresh air.

Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, private parking, and access to a small fitness room, making it a convenient and budget-friendly home base for music lovers.

Why Concert-goers love it

Though it’s tucked away from the downtown bustle, Oakmont Inn is still within easy driving distance (under 30 minutes) of Pittsburgh’s popular music venues. After a loud night out, guests appreciate the quiet surroundings and garden views. Free parking and flexible check-in from 3:00 PM make late arrivals stress-free. While you’ll need a ride to and from shows, the location offers a nice balance between accessibility and tranquility.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends wanting a shared, quiet space to crash after the encore
  • Solo travelers seeing a bucket-list artist, looking for peaceful nights
  • Couples making a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans needing a rest after a night out—this is a quiet spot
  • Budget-conscious music fans who don’t mind a short drive into the city

Food and Drink Options

While Oakmont Inn doesn’t feature an on-site restaurant, guests love the nearby local dining options within a short drive. There’s no 24/7 room service, but the inn’s proximity to Verona and Oakmont means you’ll find late-night bites if you're willing to venture out. Breakfast isn’t formally listed, so plan accordingly if you're sleeping in after a late night.

Nightlife Options

No live music or bar on-site—but that’s part of the charm. You’re close enough to Pittsburgh’s nightlife scene to enjoy pre- and post-show fun, then retreat back to a peaceful, low-key atmosphere. Local pubs and wine bars in Oakmont offer a more relaxed alternative when you're not headed downtown.

What People Say

Guests rave about the cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. Many mention the quiet setting as a major plus after late nights out. The free parking is a hit for those driving in, and people love sitting out on the patio or soaking up the sun on the terrace between outings.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests wish it were closer to downtown Pittsburgh and mention the lack of breakfast options or dining on-site. A car is definitely needed, so it’s not ideal for travelers relying on public transit or rideshares alone.

The Bottom Line

If you’re after a quiet, affordable stay within reach of Pittsburgh’s top music spots, Oakmont Inn delivers comfort, convenience, and calm post-show vibes.

It was a most luxurious time for me and my wife, she loved it.

Liked: I'm a big guy, so eating in the morning is a big deal for me. I was happy with what I had , It was very, very god . Thanks to our hostess. I liked that we were shown other places to eat and to spend a little time looking around the area. You could put just a little bigger sign out front so those of us that need a slap in the face to look might see it. Just saying.
Disliked: I gave this some thought, I liked all of it. I hope I get a chance to get up that way again. It is some beautiful country.

Overall clean getaway

Liked: Spacious living room and bedroom Great large tv with tons of channels Comfy bed
Disliked: They need an easily found list of how to work things such as the fireplace and tv. Also since no breakfast is offered during Covid, access to a refrigerator would have been nice. Also the living room door should lock.

Quite lovely and we will be back!

Liked: The Inn is very well kept, it was very quiet and clean and quaint. I love the bathroom amenities such as the high quality towels, toilet paper, tissues and rugs - I also love when there is a vent in the bathroom! (its the little things that count!). They also provided bath grains which were quite lovely. The owner (Glen) was very friendly and accommodating via text which made our stay very relaxing and easy. They also provided water and snacks (since breakfast wasn't included due to the pandemic.)
Disliked: The room was a bit cold until we realized the vent for the heat was closed - we wish we knew that earlier (or that someone would have opened it upon our arrival - the outside temp was in the teens!). But there were extra blankets in the room and an electric fireplace for ambience which made up for it!

Very good

Liked: Unfortunately because of Covid there was no breakfast. It was a cold snowy morning and we missed having coffee at the least! A very helpful staff did clean off our car for us and delivered coffee to our room the following morning.
