Cool hostel, great price, great...
Liked: Staff is 24/7 there and always very much available, kind and friendly.Building is huge, lots of stuff to do and spaces to socialize, pretty clean in spite of the sheer size. Lots of affordable vending machines, free-to-use kitchen and appliances, TV, outlets/sockets everywhere. It seems very safe. Never had an issue.
Disliked: The area surrounding the hostel looks dismal, scary even. However, I never felt unsafe. The hostel is lit up all night and the area, while sketchy-looking, has the friendliest people I've met in NY.

It was perfect for what...
Liked: Room, Facility, and Staff was amazing! Would definitely recommend. Brooklyn at night though was a liiiiiitle scary but I had a wonderful time.
Disliked: Honestly I don't think anything that the Hostel could control. Thank you again for the accommodation!

Customer Service :-( soured experience,...
Liked: Value for your money, facilities are clean, some resources available such as Broadway pamphlets, computers, maps, etc. Relaxing environment, potential to meet people from all backgrounds.
Disliked: I checked in 7/12/24 @ approx 10pm. One of the male latino front desk clerks (John or Marcus - workers wear no badges) had absolutely no customer service skills. I walk in after flying all the way from Ohio, and commuting 1.5 hours after getting off the plane by trains and feet. Needless to say I was tired. I walked in, I was not greeted at all, I was not shown I was welcomed. He pretty much asked for my ID, gave me a towel and a key. No sense of hospitality at all. He might as well not even looked at me when interacting with me. No offer to show me around the facilities or give me any pertinent information he thought I might need. I really did not feel welcome. But that was that particular worker, this was not all of the workers. But needless to say, this has soured my experience, especially on a first impression basis. Every time I encountered this particular worker, he was sure to show a sense of coldness and borderline hostility. And I say this as a black gay male, or at least a black male who does not exhibit behavior expectations of my sex. Also, if you are religious you may find it a little off putting the demonic statues and idols that are mostly in the common areas and demonic imagery on the walls. But this the first hostel I've been to, I will have to say there was value considering the cost you have to pay. You do have to purchase your own locks. The rooms can be a little damp and stuffy from the bathroom, so possibly a dehumidifier in the rooms. Other than that the atmosphere is relaxing.

Wanderfull
Liked: Second time staying at the hostel and already waiting for the next time. Professional and kind staff, knew how to solve my problem in the best way. Comfortable facilities, pleasant common areas, large and comfortable beds, free coffee all day, vending machines at affordable prices, strong Wi-Fi, a successful location in Brooklyn. Many thanks for the hospitality.

Hate shared rooms & bathrooms...
Liked: Clean & affordable.
Disliked: Shared room & bathroom. I was awaken by the stool stench of a shared room. Apparently dude doesn’t believe in flushing as soon as releasing waste. That was a one & done for me.
