The filthiest Novotel ever stayed...

Disliked: The property was dirty, in a state of disrepair and staff couldn't care anything about our concernsBooked a room for 3, the third person a teenager. Upon check-in at 1130pm we checked this room was ready for the 3 of us, which we were assured it would be. Upon reaching the room, there was only a queen bed in a small confined room, however 3 pillos on the bed. After calling reception, we were advised they would bring a rollaway bed, which only after playing serious tetris with furniture and removing furniture did it fit. Walking space between beds was less than 20cm and we had nowhere to place luggage except on the cabint with the TV, leaving no room to use the desk of make coffee.Bathroom was falling apart, walls dirty, hair in sink. The opaque tint on the windows was peeled off, giving no privacy from buildings next door Even the elevators looked like they had not been vacuumed in months. Stomping the carpet lifted all sorts of dirt and dust.On our first and second night, sleeping was terrible as there was cigarette smell coming through the aircon vent (we were level 9). The climate control was also bad as it was controlled centrally and not adjustableBreakfast was the best part of OK - certainly not the same as other novotels. Buffet food was mostly cold at 815am when they stop.serving at 930am. Coffee machine broken, and once they said it was fixed, coffee was bitter. Pancake machine also broken and fixed, but it only produced undercooked pikelets.Overall, being a frequent Novotel guest all over Australia and several times overseas, this place does not live up to the brand. It was more akin to staying in a budget motel thus paying what we did we felt ripped off.

Liked: Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. A bath in the bathroom was a bonus. We had everything we needed and also a very nice view over the river.

Disliked: Only one chair in the room which made in room dining for 2 people awkward. Only 3 pillows. One extra would have been good.
