Novotel Northbeach

Very good

Liked: Fantastic location! Right in front of North Wollongong Beach We booked the Queen Size Bed with Ocean View. It was an uninterrupted view of the North Wollongong Beach & Pacific Ocean.There was a gym & a beautiful outdoor pool (although we didn't utilize it).Easy parking around the area. Easy stroll to the Wollongong Flagstaff Hill Lighthouse. A few cafes around the Hotel too. Front desk was great! Helpful and quick. Would consider returning to North Wollongong Novotel.
Disliked: We got a breakfast deal. It was ok, nothing exciting about it. Very simple. Although I probably should have opted not to get the breakfast. As other cafes would have offered more variety. I requested an omelette but it was going to take 20mins - hence I didn't bother with it. I also asked for chilli flakes and it never arrived. The hotel is a bit tired. It needs a bit of touch up & some paint. The bathtub shower was a bit of a step for short people like myself. There was nothing to hold on to - to hop on/off the bathtub shower. A bit hazardous I reckon.The bed was way too soft. My wife's back was sore on the second night. The TV entertainment was old. I haven't watched normal TV at home. I usually watch Netflix, Prime or Disney. I wish hotels provided these. Or at least Chromecast it (not sure if this was available).

Liked: Perfect room , for me, to relax and take in the view, Thank you for allocating that room for my over night stay.
Disliked: nothing to dislike! I had a wonderful time :)

Pros & Cons

Liked: I'd like to start off by complimenting the beautiful staff! Very professional, courteous, and helpful. Lovely people. Pros: ○ Nice room. ○ Comfy Bed (actual bed, not the sofa bed) ○ Soft pillows ○ Great location ○ Clean rooms/bathrooms ○ Lovely staff ○ Good parking (Is $35 a day) ○ The foyer and facilities on foyer level feel very luxurious
Disliked: Cons: (NB: Specific to OUR stay) ● Blood stains found on pillow on arrival that freaked out my children (and us..!) ● pull out sofa is a single bed and VERY hard - but staff were accommodating with adding extra doonas to try and soften, and offered to bring in a rollaway if it was still too hard. ● Quite a few cockroaches scuttling about underfoot in North bar ● Left half a biscuit on the bench in my room at 10.30pm while resting on the bed, got up 20mins later and there were 2 BIG cockroaches guzzling down on it!
