Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Natasha B, Kingsbridge, visiting Motion Bristol Mon, 6 November 2023

The bed was comfy and the hotel is pet friendly. Think the hotel is a bit tired and needs an update. Heating didn't work well and the room was cold; shower was poor and barely got warm let alone hot; it then leaked all over the floor as the door seal didn't work. Hairdryer didn't work. Reception didn't really offer any alternatives. Unlikely to stay again.

Liked: Dog friendly and the bed was comfy.
Disliked: Cold room as the heating didn't work. Shower was barely warm and not very powerful. Shower leaked; hairdryer didn't work.

Disappointing

Liked: The location as it's near town and it was peaceful. The bed is really comfy and the air con is quiet. The bathroom was very clean and it's useful having a kettle and an iron. All good here!
Disliked: The breakfast, some members of staff were not doing their job and when I commented on the bad food, they didn't take any pride. One lady couldn't work the toasters so I got burnt pieces and Gerry couldn't get a simple order of 3 ingredients in an omelette correct. There's only a few fresh fruit choices already cut up. Omelettes are available, but one has to know that!

Loved it

Liked: Great location near station and short walk into city. Great facilities. Excellent breakfast with good gluten free options all very clearly marked. Great having a water filter on every floor esp. for the hot weather.
Disliked: Water filters had tendency to block so out of order a few times

Dreadful

Liked: Reception welcome
Disliked: The air conditioning didnt not wrok on a very hot evening - awake most of the night. Nearly ask to be moved but 4.00 am and just too tired. In the morning felt dreadful and dehydrated - the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

I expect better from a...

Liked: I ate in the restaurant on one evening and the Food was good.
Disliked: Shower was very low pressure and it never got beyond Luke warm. 1 teabag is completely inadequate and even though I asked reception to ask housekeeping to address it, they never did.
