Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Natasha B, Kingsbridge, visiting Motion Bristol Mon, 6 November 2023

The bed was comfy and the hotel is pet friendly. Think the hotel is a bit tired and needs an update. Heating didn't work well and the room was cold; shower was poor and barely got warm let alone hot; it then leaked all over the floor as the door seal didn't work. Hairdryer didn't work. Reception didn't really offer any alternatives. Unlikely to stay again.

Liked: Dog friendly and the bed was comfy.
Disliked: Cold room as the heating didn't work. Shower was barely warm and not very powerful. Shower leaked; hairdryer didn't work.

Very good

Liked: Staff were lovely and continental breakfast was great. They even had a little gift of a tennis ball for our dog, which they absolutely loved.
Disliked: As we had our dog, understandably they put us in a room specifically for that, however the carpets were highly stained from other doggy accidents. A new carpet every so often would make the rooms more comfortable and less like you have been forgotten.

Nice hotel

Liked: The location (as it is close to the train station), the guy on reception in the evening was both professional and friendly, the room, especially the bathroom, the number of chairs
Disliked: We had to queue to check in for quite a while and then the receptionist checking us in seemed to be struggling - first she tried to check us into a room that she had already checked someone else into (luckily the receptionist standing next to her was listening to her, despite checking in three separate other people in the time our receptionist was looking for a room for us, so managed to prevent an interesting incident) and then she wanted to carry on refreshing for a room, even though I had already said that we were running late (due to a delayed train) and would happily leave our bags and collect our room key later that evening. Eventually she let us do that! But I was left wondering why I was asked to check in on line the night before??Also, we could hear people in the next door room talking/laughing etc on and off until about 4am....
