Old world seaside hotel.

Liked: The location was great as were the views from the windows in our room - we were on the top floor at the end so had triple aspect views, including the promenade.The room was quite sizeable and eclectic in decor and a little dated, which added to its charm.The breakfast was more than adequate. The staff were very efficient and cheerful.
Disliked: Its quirkiness may not appeal to everyone.

Disappointing. Could be lovely if...

Liked: Must have been a beautiful hotel in its heyday… very gracious building, good quiet location, pleasant gardens.
Disliked: Very run down, fittings old and some broken, black mould in our bathroom, carpet wrinkled, furniture stained. Dining room staff poorly trained. We had 2 coeliacs with us and only gluten free cereal on first morning, then they ran out and didn’t replace. Table in bar sticky. Menu sounds great but food poorly cooked and poor quality. Toilet in our friends’ room didn’t refill if used during night. This hotel needs total refurbishment.

Liked: Beautiful gardens , easy access to sea front . Wonderful pool . My dog Buffers was made really welcome .

Disliked: The shower pressure was disappointing, plus the carpet was stained under the bed

An older hotel which is...

Liked: Great location close to the seafront and park. Plenty of parking and nice grounds grounds. Big room with ensuite and comfortable bed.
Disliked: The hotel is a little 'tired', the communal (no problems with our bedroom) area on the top floor had not been hoovered and other was clean bedding stacked along the corridor.
