Great location, great food and...

Liked: The food is excellent especially the breakfast and the staff were great.
Disliked: The room was very small - we were two bikers with quite a bit of gear as doing the NC500 again and there's no drawers or cupboards in the room. The noise from, presumably, the kitchen extractor was loud and quite early in the day so not the best way to wake up in the morning.

Beautiful place, well recommended

Liked: I liked the whole place, the staff, the location, the food, the comfort, the cleanliness the facilities.Every box ticked in my book.
Disliked: Nothing it was a great stay.

Liked: It is a short walk to Dunnet Bay Beach, which was really impressive.

Liked: The staff in the evening are amazing, as are the dinners.
Disliked: Preorder breakfast and time, sat for 30 minutes and nothing, not even toast! There were only another 4 tables, 1 getting really frustrated about their wait. When we got up and said we needed to be somewhere we were met with “it’s been really hectic”, 4 tables?!The girls looked completely disinterested. I did receive a call 10 minutes after we left to say they were refunding part of my stay, but…..

A wonderful place to stay

Liked: Really comfortable beds. Great size of TV. Handy having the kettle in the room. The ensuite shower was clean and powerful. We loved the cooked breakfast. Plenty of parking at the hotel and in an excellent location for exploring the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner too.
Disliked: We loved everything.

Beautiful hotel and location, excellent...

Liked: Great location, excellent breakfast and service. Loved the porridge. Easy and ample parking.
Disliked: Single room very small. Had to keep stepping over my suitcase. No bedside table or bedside light which was much below expectations. Lighting consisted of very bright ceiling lights or nothing, and you have to get out of bed to switch the lights off. The view from my window was directly onto a group of ugly and mismatched buildings which have been added between the historic hotel and the historic church. The hotel's own website states that "all rooms have views of the village" - not true, my view was depressing and a big disappointment in such a scenic area. It seems that single travellers are sometimes expected to put up with things!
