Character stay in Greymouth

Liked: The rooms are all animal-themed (we stayed in the Elephant Room). There is plenty of communal space (both inside and out). The backpackers has a lot of character. Able to check in early in the day.
Disliked: This backpackers is a bit dated and worn. The fridges weren't operating very well when we stayed (food was kept warm overnight). The bathrooms aren't signposted the best - we had other guests walk in on our room as they thought it was the bathroom.

A value for money stay...

Liked: Very close to train station and main shops. The giraffe twin room upstairs was large had good view. Had use of bikes.
Disliked: Bathrooms were sufficient but needed upgrade. Spa pool no longer operational.

Liked: The hostel was great itself with a lot of character to it. The beds could have been a bit more comfortable as they were quite worn down, however they did the job. There is a lovely chilling space in the hostel and there are even instruments which added a nice touch.

Liked: Very good location and beautiful building. Helpful and nice staff.
Disliked: Bunk beds were incredibly shaky and the mattress was very worn out and uncomfortable. Many things in the building would need to be fixed.
