Down at heel and disappointing.

Liked: Good location and friendly reception
Disliked: One of the beds has springs coming through. We had to put towels and a throw under the sheet to make it more comfortable - which didn’t work well. In addition the bed was on castors and in the night I got out and back in and the bed slid across the floor! Finally the White Company toiletries advertised on the website were not in place - a cheaper alternative was used.

Liked: Cosy small pub with charming daytime locals.
Disliked: Becomes an Ibiza-style music venue from 7pm ‘til very late at weekends. Our room directly above was uninhabitable, with noise and vibrations making conversation, TV viewing and phone calls impossible. Karaoke made things worse. Before booking we read many reviews citing this problem at the property but this was the only one available in the locality we needed, so we hoped they were exaggerated. They were not. Even though Rock music fans ourselves, we could not bear the row and bailed out part-way through our pre-paid stay. Expensive, but getting a full night’s sleep at last, was priceless.

Liked: Stayed in Evangeline. The room was nicely decorated, the location (West Malling) is lovely.
Disliked: Payment was taken 3 days before arrival despite booking as “Pay at the Property”. The plug in the bath did not work so we could not have a bath and this was the reason I booked this room. Loud music went on in the bar downstairs until gone 1:30am, the bed squeaked loudly every time you turned over, and the bright green emergency light above the door made it hard to get a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast was not included despite the website saying so. There was no staff available on site to feed this back to in the morning at check out.

Disliked: HAVING TO DRAG YOUR LUGGAGE THROUGH A BUSY CROWDED FRIDAY NIGHT BAR - NOT THE EASIEST THING TO DO . IT WASN'T PERHAPS THE MOST FRIENDLIEST WELCOME FROM THE LANDLORD, BUT TO BE FAIR, IT WAS A VERY BUSY NIGHT IN THE PUB. ...

Liked: Friendly staff and convenient for us
Disliked: The green light in the bedroom kept us awake as not used to light in room. The shower had a massive shower head but the water was pathetic.Very basic room no chair to put clothes on.

Will not be coming back

Liked: The bathroom was modern
Disliked: Noisy till late, curtains had to be forced closed, uncomfortable bed, shower head was rusty, exit by the back gate didn’t even have a handle.
