Nice friendly hotel, ideal for either a one night stay or longer, as a good base to explore the lovely surrounding areas.

Liked: Staff very helpful & accommodating. We booked this hotel for convenience as we were taking part in a cycle sportive the following day with start & finish in Wooler. The chef kindly offered to come in 1 hour earlier so we could set off sooner on cycle event.
Disliked: Bar closed too early, had wanted to finish off with drinks at the hotel after a meal out but it was all locked up

Liked: Beds very comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly, room clean, and great location.
Disliked: No door knob on exterior of bathroom door. Breakfast was a little overcooked.

Liked: Location was great for our trip , staff we very pleasant and helpful
Disliked: It's a bit in need of some TLC outside seating area overgrown and dirty, rooms comfortable if not a bit quirky, we had a shower and two roll top baths in our room which looked amazing unfortunately water pressure was not always good so had to settle for a shower !

Not worth the money

Disliked: The room looked to be well presented when we first arrived. However the smell in the bathroom was vile, had to put boiling water down the plug and toilet to try help the smell. Dropped something in the floor that went under the bed, bent down to get it, found dog biscuits, hair dust and other bits. Tried to have a bath which was in the bedroom but as that was running we could see water coming out from underneath it. Not sound proof at all
