Wonderful hotel and restaurant in...

Liked: Fantastic property with very friendly and helpful staff. Bar and restaurant are so good we ate all breakfast and dinner there. Location is pleasant but a bit of a walk into town. Lived York!
Disliked: A little far from town but that is a minor quibble

We enjoyed our stay so...

Liked: The location was great, close to city center but on a quiet street. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the beds were super comfortable! The staff was always available, helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Nothing

Passable

Liked: Staff lovey , clean lovely bar area , rooms on the second floor and above are far better
Disliked: The room was next to the lift on the ground floor,very noisy, the room was very cold and had to have the heating on. Stayed here 5/6 times before also has got very expensive for the weekend break cheaper to book a plane and go abroad unfortunately. Great location two minutes walk into the centre parking at the hotel is also very expensive. The car park is very small and if you have a nice big car You’ve got to be careful where you park it it is first come first serve we just managed to squeeze in and I mean squeezing.

Liked: The spa was amazing we couldn’t fault anything, attention to detail was fantastic
Disliked: we woke up to an ant infested room and when we called reception they weren’t apologetic at all and sent a house cleaner to spray ant spray in the room whilst we were still in (i have asthma) and that was it. bedding was ripped too.

Grand house experience

Liked: Perfectly located close to the centre. The room whilst small is well appointed. Great breakfast at the restaurant. The staff second to none- notified us that we left our kindle behind Grand with no fuss organised to have it sent to our next destination. Thank you - we will be back.

Want to move in! Don’t...

Liked: There were so many thoughtful details here, and the rooms were just adorable. I can’t think of a single thing we didn’t like. The location was perfect for an easy walk to city center and a short ride to the train station,staff was super friendly and kind, the room was spacious and well-appointed (loved the inclusion of some records and a player in our room!), there were plenty of easily accessible outlets for two travelers, and the bath amenities were wonderful. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.
Disliked: That I don’t live there permanently

Exceptional

Liked: Comfortable beddings, very clean hotel.The location is great, not too far from the minster and the train station.They can pick up your luggage from the station, very convenient!We also loved the pantry area, so generous!
Disliked: The room is not sound proof at all. We can hear next door talking and laughing clearly. It didn’t bother us that much tho.

Ok not great

Liked: Good position
Disliked: but not impressed with the rooms bed was too big for room, lack of storage and bad design tv was poor record player is a gimmick and takes up valuable space
