A great hotel to base...

Liked: The hotel is located in a good area, it is just across the street from the Botanical Gardens and the Prado. It is very clean and all the staff are great. Breakfast was excellent. We had a balcony in our room which was nice to be able to look out at the Botanical gardens and the different buildings nearby.
Disliked: It is on a very busy street so there is noise from traffic and emergency services sirens, BUT once we closed the balcony door we could hardly hear any of it. The bed was comfortable but if one of us turned over, the other one bounced!

Nice hotel at reasonable rate...

Liked: Very close to Atocha station, the Prado and Reina Sofia museum also to botanical gardens and the Retiro Park - enough sightseeing to do in this area over a couple of days. Room was clean and comfortable - we opted out of breakfast as plenty of nice restaurants near by but we did eat super in their small restaurant and the food and service were very good
