Room was adequate and comfortable but small and unexceptional for the price they were charging. You expect 5-star luxury for this price. But this hotel was middling in all aspects.
Liked: Nice open space with excellent gym, pool, and parking services.
Disliked: Extremely overpriced for what it is. Service in the restaurant was very slow. Food was fine but overpriced for what you got.

Not the first or last...
Liked: Quick check in process. Centrally located so walking downtown was easy and safe. The water machine is huge bonus. My kids want one in our house now

We loved Newport, but would...
Liked: The view from the room was nice, would have loved to have a balcony to go out on to.
Disliked: The price of the room was very high, for what you get. The restaurant menu was very limited, we actually got up and left, and didn’t order anything. Was very put off with the forced valet parking.

Lovely property, well located and...
Liked: Wonderful location in Newport. We had a harbor view which was delightful. The food was surprisingly good … exceeded expectations for hotel food. Servers in restaurant and bar were great. Valets were also great with one exception (see below).
Disliked: The room was very expensive and when we arrived found that there was a $30 “destination fee.” There was some complicated explanation about how we’d get some of that back if we charged drinks and food to the room, which we did. But this was still an added expense. Charge what the room is worth and don’t surprise guests with added cost, particularly since this is not a resort with amenities like golf or tennis or even a pool. The person who brought our car around ($48/day charge) gave me the keys without a word and did not help us load the bags into the vehicle. I found this almost shocking … just walked back into the hotel.

We had a wonderful time...
Liked: The location was great. Very clean and staff very friendly, especially all those working the valet parking.
Disliked: The extra 30 dollars a night for a destination fee was not expected. The fact that you had to use the money in the hotel, I believe was unfair. I believe that the customer should get that money back at the end.
