The Hilton Midtown obviously doesn't need to work very hard to please it's guests. We were told at check in they have a 98% occupancy rate, largely due to convention and business travel. Too bad for those of us not on a company expense account.
Liked: Location is fabulous.
Disliked: This was our second stay in four years. There won't be a third. You expect a large hotel in the heart of midtown to be busy. And it is. What you should expect from a Hilton is service and convenience. This was not our experience. We didn't get our room cleaned on the first day because we were still in the room at 10 when housekeeping called. Amenities in our room did not include a mini bar, coffee maker or free wifi. Our room was accessible, which we did not request or require. This meant our bathroom was spacious with no counter space. Minor inconveniences that add up when you consider the room rate (high).

Liked: I liked the ambiance and the stay was very comfortable
Disliked: The lights in the room are dim. There should be a mirror on top of the chest of drawer instead of a painting

We enjoyed our stay overall...
Liked: The location for us was good, we were able to nearly walk everywhere we wanted to visit and also the Subway was near.
We found the cleaning staff very helpful and also the lady in the booking of shows and transport helpful.
Disliked: We were disappointed with having to line up for more than hour for breakfast.

Liked: Friendliness of the staff , quick response to requests for towels and extra blankets. Hotel parking attendants were pleasant and very helpful especially the woman that was managing.
Disliked: After check out my daughter realized she left her student ID, we called the hotel within 30 minutes and she explained and was told that they would call her back she called again 3 hours later and was told the same thing, we went into the hotel around 3 and the room had been cleaned and no one had checked the room for the ID. The house keeper thinks she threw it away. Very upsetting to know that once checked out they had no concern for our property. Security did meet us and a report will be completed however had someone checked this after the first call and a fee for a new ID card could have been avoided.

It?s just the location
Disliked: No smiles from the staff, the destination fee is designed to be complicated, to make you spend more or to make you not spend entire amount; you pay $5 per luggage to place your luggage there after checkout; since this was booked via Booking.com, I am confused about the credit card charges I have been receiving from my card company (per hotel, these charges shd be reversed at a later date- in the meantime I have no peace of mind.)

The Hilton is expensive but...
Liked: Very good location. Very nice room very helpful concierge and staff.
Disliked: Tea and coffee facilities missing in room herb and spice take away and restaurant at back had a messy area.
