The Hilton Midtown obviously doesn't need to work very hard to please it's guests. We were told at check in they have a 98% occupancy rate, largely due to convention and business travel. Too bad for those of us not on a company expense account.
Liked: Location is fabulous.
Disliked: This was our second stay in four years. There won't be a third. You expect a large hotel in the heart of midtown to be busy. And it is. What you should expect from a Hilton is service and convenience. This was not our experience. We didn't get our room cleaned on the first day because we were still in the room at 10 when housekeeping called. Amenities in our room did not include a mini bar, coffee maker or free wifi. Our room was accessible, which we did not request or require. This meant our bathroom was spacious with no counter space. Minor inconveniences that add up when you consider the room rate (high).

Very good
Liked: Herb n kitchen had lovely food and friendly staff
Disliked: Elevators were often full and we needed to wait a long time to get on one with space at busier times.

Our original hotel we booked...
Liked: Street noise was minimal
Disliked: Would have preferred coffee maker in room rather than having to get dressed and go downstairs.

Just well short of my...
Liked: Location. Some staff. Parts of facilities ok.
Disliked: Seriously bad value. I had a fridge in my room, not where it should have been. That didn't work. I asked and was told all floors 10 down do not have a fridge.What????Wardrobe doors didn't shut properly, bed head leather was disintegrating. Customer service guy I spoke to about WiFi was terrible. Rude, arrogant and lazy. I would not stay again. It' a long way short of Hilton standards.

Comfortable and convenient

Disliked: The towels in bathroom were rough- not soft- this was the only downside of my stay.

Disappointed
Liked: Location and food at the Herban and Kitchen
Disliked: Mattress had NO SUPPORT! We were there for 4 days....Didn't restock tp, clean glasses. The conditioner container in the shower was empty the entire stay. No refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee maker in the room. Location was the only highpoint. Previous stays here were so good. What's happened?

Disappointing and over priced.
Liked: Location
Disliked: Room smelled and was dirty, had house keeping come up and it was still dirty in the bathroom. The hvac did not work, it would not cool down in the room. Pillows were not comfortable. Could not get to the main floor, all of the elevators going down were completely packed for over 20 minutes.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Price for value. Pricey room, no restaurant, automatic $35 charge forcing you to buy something in the hotel, noisy room. Yup. Traveled for 35 years. I was Hilton "girl". No more after this experience.

I won't stay here again
Liked: location & room was as expected
Disliked: There was No cafe, just a counter to get coffee etc. & you have to find somewhere else to sit in the hotel. I expected a cafe/lounge area in a hotel this size. The elevators were awful, long waits & hoards of people crammed into them . They need more elevators.
