The Hilton Midtown obviously doesn't need to work very hard to please it's guests. We were told at check in they have a 98% occupancy rate, largely due to convention and business travel. Too bad for those of us not on a company expense account.
Liked: Location is fabulous.
Disliked: This was our second stay in four years. There won't be a third. You expect a large hotel in the heart of midtown to be busy. And it is. What you should expect from a Hilton is service and convenience. This was not our experience. We didn't get our room cleaned on the first day because we were still in the room at 10 when housekeeping called. Amenities in our room did not include a mini bar, coffee maker or free wifi. Our room was accessible, which we did not request or require. This meant our bathroom was spacious with no counter space. Minor inconveniences that add up when you consider the room rate (high).

Liked: Great location by Central Park and Rockefeller..
Disliked: Took forever to check in, small rooms and dated decor. Keyless entry still required normal check in process which was excruciating.

very bad memories of our...
Liked: location of the hotel is good. Its quite near to Central park and Times Square, walking distance of only 10 minutes
Disliked: We have booked room for 3 adult persons, Triple occupancy and paid extra accordingly but the room was small, not enough space for 3 persons, bathroom was also small, no Coffee/Tea maker was available in the room. Even they do not provide coffee mugs in the room, they only provide plastic glasses after multiple requests. very bad hospitality service by the hotel management. Better to avoid Hilton hotels in future.
