Beautiful place.

Liked: We stayed in the superior double room with our dog. It was handy having a door to the garden for her.The room was lovely and very clean. There is plenty of room for the dog bed, too.Breakfast was delicious. With plenty of choice.Staff are all very nice.Grounds are beautiful with walks for the dog.Would definitely stay again.
Disliked: We had a sandwich when we arrived in the evening after a long day travelling. But it wasn't very nice... really thin, dry, brown bread which had processed thin slice of cheese and no butter, which cost £8.50!But then breakfast the next morning was excellent.We could only eat breakfast in the bar with our dog, which was fine, but it was a bit of a walk to the breakfast room.

Liked: lovely terrace to enjoy drinks and food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful gardens to walk in.
Disliked: Room smaller than expected. No air conditioning therefore room very hot.

Relaxing few days in peaceful...

Liked: Spectacular renovated building intermixed with modern functional bedrooms.Extensive grounds .Very Attentive & helpful staff.Well equipped Spa area & Gym Easy parking
Disliked: Had been put off having breakfast by other people’s recent reviews.Rural area ,fine if you have a car otherwise sketchy bus timetable /transport links

perfect stay

Liked: Absolutely stunning place! I thought it was hotel rooms but it's actually kind of little terraced bungalows which is nice because you don't get the noise of footsteps up and down the corridor all night, instead a stunning view into the gardens! The room was clean and comfortable, with a good selection of teas coffees etc. and included an iron and hair dryer too! We didn't get chance to use the gym/pool/sauna facilities unfortunately but definitely be rebooking in the future and trying these out. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a selection of hot food and fresh fruit and yogurt with the usual toast/muffin/croissant selection. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to help, they were so polite and really make you feel welcome, they have a way of making you feel special during your stay. it was a very pleasant surprise as I booked this hotel very last minute at a price cheaper than most budget hotels.
Disliked: The breakfast served was lovely but a vegetarian option of hot food would have been amazing. I didn't request this specifically but it would have been nice for it to have been an option.
