Very disappointing. Extremely uncomfortable bed!!

Liked: Love the location. Enjoyed the river walk
Disliked: Very uncomfortable bed!! It was either an old mattress or very cheap. The springs could be felt through the mattress. Couldn't sleep as the bed was very uncomfortable. The bathmat in the bathroom was totally frayed and should have been in the bin long ago. Bathroom look tired and outdated. Not what you would expect for £156 for one night.Breakfast was disappointing as it was dried up.

Disliked: Very poor restaurant service. Was celebrsting a 40th anniversary ....chips failed to arrive with the steak choices. Wrong deserts. Was promised a call from manager but never happened. Very disappointing.

Liked: Nice place with good services. Coud enjoy the swimming pool which was quite big, and had good dinner and breakfast. River nearby and historic building make the hotel special from the inside and outside.
Disliked: Just some part of room decoration and furniture which could have been on an a higher level standing

Disliked: Slightly more expensive than we normally pay for hotel rooms at this level

Well worth a stay -...

Liked: The location is, of course, wonderful, and there are many good things about the hotel. The leisure club is very good and the general areas of the hotel are lovely. The room we were in was spacious with a great bathroom, good WiFi and hot water and the bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: The room we were in on the 6th floor needs some TLC. Neither window closes properly, rain water came into the room through the window, paint is peeling and stained a little on the ceiling and around the windows. The TV didn't work but was replaced quickly. Breakfast is not comparable to similar standard places - the continental selection is poor. Every time we have stayed (3 times) over the years there have been issues at dinner (wrong food arriving, drinks not arriving, bill incorrect etc.)
