Very pleased
Liked: Great value for the money. The hotel does look a bit tired and could use some fresh paint in the corridors, new carpets etc. to breathe new life into it but it's lovely otherwise. Staff was absolutely lovely and made our stay. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The four poster bed was super comfy. Very pleased with breakfast options, delicious and generous.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

5 star treat
Liked: I went for a weekend break with my husband. The hotel was as it states 3 star. However, the service given is most certainly 5 star. The staff at the reception made you feel extremely wellcome on arrival and could not do enough to ensure everything was as comfortable and relaxing as possible during our stay. The rooms appeared partially renovated and although still showed little signs of wear and tear due to its age, it was immaculately clean, brilliant soft thick white towels, lovely tea / coffee tray with shortbread. Smart TV and free wi - fi. The gardens are stunning, and it shows they are definitely well maintained. Would most definitely highly recommend this hotel. Thank - you for a lovely weekend.
Disliked: No small table for kettle. The hospitality tray was very good. However, having a dedicated side table for this near a socket would be totally beneficial and enhance the room.

Shabby chic place that does...
Liked: Bar meals good value. Couple of good snooker tables to use after dinner is great fun. Staff pleasent. To really enjoy the hotel you have to have the correct mindset, it's an old classic Victorian building with all the challenges of maintaining an old property. It's clean and maintained where necessary and part of the "Fawlty Tower" charm is to embrace the comically worn bits.
