Overall a pretty average stay...

Liked: Great location, quick walk to the train station and 20 minutes to Manhattan. A cute atmosphere, quiet for NYC, and friendly staff.
Disliked: Our balcony was locked for some reason and we couldn't get onto it. Also something on the ceiling (the smoke detector?) let off a bright green light all night that we couldn't turn off.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Liked: The location was ok rooms also ok.
Disliked: Customer service APPALLING!!!Prior to our arrival we asked to amend our booking by 1 day ie reduce our stay by one day - they refused!!! We then arrived on the original date, having changed our travel plans to find that there was no room available for us. We arrived at 11 pm there was no welcome no drinks nothing just panic that they had seemingly sold our room!!( the guy said luggage was in our room he went to get it!! And brought it downstairs ) he then kept us waiting for an hour and a half while it seems they scurried about trying to get the room ready for us (to this day don’t know who the luggage belonged to) all very strange. We had to complain to the manger who we did see the following morning. As an apology they gave us a small bag of 0% Heineken beer a small bag of choc chip cookies and a small bag of crisps!!!!APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT CLEAN NO APOLOGYAVOID

Excellent hotel for ordinary people....

Liked: Good location near subway, food market and restaurant, comfortable room, nice and helpful staff. Excellent shower with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. No breakfast, only caffee and hot water for tea, but near is located food market to purchase the food and to eat in an eating place near the lobby.
Disliked: Terrible Wi-Fi!!! Please do something with that!!!

Everything you need

Liked: Great location, comfortable room, friendly staff. Really everything you need to make your stay in NYC amazing. And the view from the room was the best part of the stay. We highly recommend it.

Unsafe area, bad service, fair...

Liked: Reasonable size room at a fair price, clean, good subway connection to manhattan (just three stops on the e train and you are right in the center of it all). Nice coffee corner on the ground floor, free, all day.
Disliked: Area did not feel safe at all. Not in daylight and definitely not at night. I strongly don’t recommend if you are a solo traveler. Also- don’t expect good service- I specifically asked for a room with a desk when booking, as I had to work from my room, and was answered, in writing, that my room will have a desk and chair. The room had no desk and no chair. I asked about this several times during my stay and got no response. Nothing. Other than that the room is quite basic with outdated furniture, bed extremely soft, I got a room with no view facing the street and had to keep blinds shut all the time.
