Liked: hotel is an easy walk from Gare de Nord
Disliked: I booked a stay at this hotel on 21st April and was shocked when the hotel immediately charged my credit card for the full amount of my stay not once but twice, doubling the agreed cost. I immediately contacted the hotel via the booking.com messaging system but received no reply, so on the 28th and 30th April I contacted the hotel again via their own web site, but again received no response. Therefore I raised a formal complaint with booking.com and they tried numerous times to contact this hotel but without success. On 13th May I contacted the hotel yet again via the booking.com messaging system and finally received the reply below:We confirm that the necessary has already been carried out with our banking services last week regarding the double invoicing mentioned (reservation no. xxxxxxxxxx).Processing times may vary from bank to bank, but the transaction is well underway.We remain at your disposal if you need any further information. Unfortunately, this turned out to be untrue. The money wrongly taken from my credit card has still not been returned, even though it is now over 6 weeks since the hotel claimed they would return the money and over 9 weeks since they took it. Whilst at the hotel I twice raised the issue with the manager who claimed repeatedly that the money had already been returned to my account and accused me of trying to get the money refunded twice. On return home I checked thoroughly with my bank that the money has not been returned to my account or any other account within the bank. I can only conclude that the management of this hotel are THIEVES, LIARS and CREDIT CARD FRAUDSTERS. I have had to cancel the credit card used to book this hotel as my bank deemed it had been subjected to fraudulent transactions by the management of this hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Better than expected from the...

Liked: We got upgraded to the prestige room, which was nice and comfortable. It was on the 1st floor so that was a relief with the stairs. The staff were all really nice for the one night we were there. Very quick to respond to messages also
Disliked: The street was super noisy but was expecting that in Paris it didn’t bother us that much. I was glad I read all the reviews about the neighbourhood as it prepared us. In saying that we had no one approach us or hassle us in any way. I was nervous taking my 2 children there after reading reviews but we just made sure not to out at dark.

Worth while

Liked: Staff were very friendly. Room, whilst a little small, was very comfortable and VERY clean.
Disliked: The nearest metro station (which was right beside the hotel) was a little scary at night time.

Don’t book, rude staff !!

Disliked: The hotel declined our booking , even though in the booking app it showed confirmed the hotel didn’t allowed us checkin. This has never happened in my history of using booking. We reached out to booking via customer care chat as no response. The guy at the reception was super rude , he tried to sell us another room at higher peice. We ended up choosing another hotel, which costed us last minute high prices for room in another hotel.

Good location, fair value

Liked: The location is excellent. 2 min walk from Metro station and 10 min walk from Gare du Nord. A lot of shops / restaurants nearby which is very convenient On the other hand, given it is only a 3-star hotel, the facilities provided is very basic, but it is clean and the building is recently renovated.The room is air-conditioned which was very good because the weather was very hot during my stay (33C)
Disliked: There is no lift in the hotel. If you carry heavy luggage or you are not strong enough, climbing up the stairs will your luggage will be painful.

Great stay!

Liked: The room was lovely and clean. Staff were so friendly and very helpful after my bag was stolen with our room key in.

Never again

Liked: The location is convenient, just one minute from the underground station. The room is suitable for a one-night stay, as was the case for us.
Disliked: Unfortunately, this was one of the least clean places I have ever visited. We did not feel comfortable using flip-flops or slippers, and ended up discarding our socks after the stay. The toilet had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival and showed visible traces of blood, which appeared to be menstrual
