Disliked: staff (or someone else) broke into my locker without my consent bc someone cheched out and checked back in as me. bo one informed me…. the receptionist was extremely unhelpful. when i had a panic attack that my stuff was stolen he told me to CALM DOWN?!! and then a guest yelled in my face saying slurs and the receptionist let them threaten me FOR HAVING A PANIC ATTACK?!!! they asked me multiple times to repay for the room i already paid for, did nothing to help me but try and tell me that i needed to calm down. it was the most horrible experience. they did nothing about the random woman who yelled in my face and threatened me for having a panic attack, they did not apologize for breaking and entering into my locker for no reason without my consent or for anything. it was horrible. but i also need to say that there was another very sweet and nice receptionist who i wish worked that night… if you ever have an issue, tough luck. they wouldn’t even refund me…

Liked: The kitchen was really helpful to have and the extra big lockers were nice too.
Disliked: The sensor lights are very annoying. If someone gets up in the middle of the night to go use the bathroom is it really necessary for all the lights to turn on and wake other people up? There is a gap above the curtain that lets the light in. Covering this gap would also get rid of this problem.

Cheap and easy location to...

Liked: I was in New York very briefly mostly for a show at Radio City Music Hall, and just needed a place to sleep while there on my own. This fit the bill. It's not really my type of place, but everyone kept to themselves and it was quiet enough. It was summer, but thankfully my little bunk had a fan in it so I could take a nap when I got in during the day.
Disliked: I wanted to see if I could check in early but there was no way to get in without your code that doesn't activate til check-in. I managed to get in to talk to someone and they said it was fine and to come back - but again, same problem, no code, had to wait for another guest to let me in. So that was awkward, but the rest of the time was fine.

Liked: I like how close it was to Central Park and how it’s in a decent area in the city. Inside it’s pretty chill, the lounge areas were pretty decent as well. Everyone that I interacted with kept to themselves didn’t try to be talkative with you, this place is most definitely ideal to solo travelers trying to find a neat place who wants to keep to themselves. It’s also a hit or miss with roommates in your bunk area as well, there was this one person who was a little loud but I knew they weren’t doing it intentionally
Disliked: On my third day there, my water bottle went missing from the fridge, I told the staff about it immediately as I was leaving, I didn’t make it a big deal either, but the staff at the desk said he would look around and all that and he found it, he said one of the maintenance people took it out of the fridge and cleaned it and put it away in a cabinet, which I thought it was weird for that to happen since I had my name and the date I put it in there but it’s alright, didn’t lose it at the end of the day so it’s all good

Liked: The room was clean and the facilities were super.The hostel is located in a very strategic part of the city.
