Mystic River Hotel & Suites

The room was dirty. It smelled like mold - we spent an hour cleaning the bathroom and it didn't help much. I will never use this hotel again.

I won’t stay here again

Liked: Comfortable bedGood location
Disliked: Shower in the room not working, Shower room door is broken( cannot closed).

Disappointing

Liked: Very close to mystic seaport and aquarium.
Disliked: Our room had a broken shower head, it leaked everywhere while we were bathing our kids and didn’t notice it until it was flooded

Dirty and no pool, would...

Liked: No pool. Dirty. Key entrance didn't work. Only once ice machine in the entire building which was near the lobby. Dirty. Smelled weird. Looked like an abandoned building.
Disliked: No pool, even though the website said there was one. The sheets were stained. No fun length mirror.

Liked: Nothing!
Disliked: It was very dirty! Confusing to get to room and the bathroom light was not working properly! I asked for queen size beds and they gave us a room with Full beds. There was black mold in the stairwells and dead bugs. They stated they would refund our money if the room was untouched but didn’t refund s the money after they checked the room!

Better Grounds

Liked: The convenience to everything. Close to all attractions, restaurants,highways etc.
Disliked: Needs upgrade,better security, only one location for the ice machine and that's main building 2nd floor. The back buildings do not. I had to go looking throughout the building until I bumped into another customer looking for the same and discovered it was all the way out of the Way.

Bad

Liked: There was nothing really good to stay about this hotel the sheets were dirty, the bed was uncomfortable there was hardly anything that was as advertised
Disliked: The stay started out fine everything looked normal. There were no bed bugs which i always check for. When we got ready for bed i noticed the towels werent totaly clean. I cant expect much from a 2 star hotel. We went to bed and woke up to construction noises at 3am. The room was advertised as soundproofed. It was not. After dealing with that untill 8 when we were to leave we noticed there was no sign to hang for the cleaning crew to not come in. We decided to take anything valuable and make note of everything that was there. When we returned it was "cleaned". This is where the frustration began. The fridge that we had food in had been emptied and the linnens were "replaced". I called the front desk about the food and they said they would check with the cleaning crew and get back to us. 1 hr and a half later there was no responce. So i decided to walk down and ask. The man at the desk told me he checked with the cleaning crew and that the lady was sorry and that she left some money. I replyed "she left money or the hotel did?". The man replyed she had. I replied "why? Did she eat it?" And from his lack of a response that seamed to be the case. I may be over exaggerating but it gets worse. When I returned to my room to take a shower to get ready for bed i noticed the same disgusting towel had been folded back up and put on the rack for us to reuse. I know this because i had remarked about it to my wife how there was a stain on it. And the same towel with the same stain was folded and put back. We decided to skip the shower and wait until our next destination. We went to bed and turned on the air conditioner it puffed out a cloud of dust so i checked the filter. It had not been cleaned in weeks if not months. We packed up in the morning to see what the breakfast was as advertised. There was no breakfast. I also want to add that the pool and the vending machines were also not opperational.

Liked: The staff was very friendly. The room was speacious.
Disliked: Don't judge a book by its cover. The property is much nicer inside and the staff were friendly. Needs updated and an elevator!!
