Liked: The location was perfect for first time Paris tourists. Metro stop at the front door. Wonderful restaurants close by and walking to sights very possible.
Disliked: N/A

Perfect place to stay in...

Liked: Very welcoming host, taking care of everything, even special wishes like lactose free milk.We had a quiet room despite the central location. Metro is right in front of the house. We really recommend and will look to come back when we visit Paris again.

Disliked: Lack of A/C, but this is a historical building so normally this would be difficult to install (if not impossible).

NEGATIVE 1000 percent!!! BEWARE!!!!

Liked: Horrible Experience! BEWARE this property owner is extremely unprofessional….we were 10 minutes late …and he LEFT leaving us STRANDED without a hotel?!!! We were shocked and this left us with a terrible impression of Parisians! Disgusting and Arrogant!!
Disliked: We made it to the Dark and dingy filthy Lobby…only to find out that we could not get in!!!! The property owner left without leaving a Key or code to get into property!!!

A lovely place to stay...

Liked: Dear Jean, as you know , we were excited to be at your property ..and for the most part , it was a very nice experience. You are an attentive host and we appreciated your willingness to assist us with questions that required ‘local’ advice. The room and en suite were well appointed and very clean..we did appreciate that. The ‘breakfast’ room was lovely..and your food presentation was perfect…as was the food.
Disliked: I am a traveller who looks at pics and expects the stay to represent the ambience and opportunity to use what I see as our own, during our time there. Finding out, after we arrived, that the room depicted in the ‘lounge/breakfast’ area was only accessible during breakfast hours did take away a large part of, what we thought would be , ours to use during our entire stay. We can understand your reticence in opening up your personal space to travellers Jean.. but, in all fairness, any and all area restrictions should be made known to customers during the booking process. That would be a reasonable request and allow people, like ourselves, to decide if the limited space of a bedroom would be sufficient or, are we looking for a larger space, like described in your listing ..and presented as such with pics… without any contrary information , as to what we could expect during our stay. Yes, we did think that the lounge/breakfast room was ours to enjoy within reasonable hours… say, breakfast time to 8:00 PM. We did expect to be able to sit on the furniture with a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of tea in the morning. To be told that I could not sit on the sofa , with my tea, after breakfast was embarrassing to me , especially with other people in the room to hear this chastisement. Either you are providing an environment for travellers to relax and enjoy the ambiance that you suggest with your booking pictures or, you are booking accommodations that do not reflect the reality of what is actually allowed. I ask that you make it clear for future bookings.

Liked: We stayed here for five days and felt extremely comfortable. Jean Etienne warmly and thoughtfully welcomed us and recommended some great restaurants. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, and most importantly, the price was more affordable than regular hotels. It was truly amazing! I’ve already recommended this place to many friends, and the next time I come to Paris, I will definitely stay here again.
