Rooms were clean and had everything you’d expect. The air con is so noisy it kept us up most of the night.

Liked: The building has been restored and original features were maintained.
Disliked: Rooms quite small and get really warm. There is air con but it is very noisy and kept us up most of the night. There was only one towel so had to share a towel after a shower.

A nightmare! very disappointing

Liked: This room is located in the center in a busy street in from of Oxford Museum. Rather in a very touristic area, with plenty of shops and restaurant.
Disliked: The room was quite luxurious (despite the access involving a very narrow cast-iron staircase). However, after about an hour in the evening, the air conditioning system began emitting a deep noise every minute. We tried switching it off, but even in the 'off' mode, the noise persisted, making it impossible for us to sleep through the night. We contacted the owner via the Booking.com chat and were told they would respond promptly. Unfortunately, despite multiple reminders, we received no reply - no explanation, no apology. We also requested compensation, but again, there was complete silence.Given the high rates charged by this accommodation in Oxford, this experience was extremely disappointing. As a professor with work commitments the following day and an important ceremony at the College, I had expected a restful night. Instead, the stay was a source of anxiety and exhaustion. The lack of response and concern from the Museum House is unacceptable. Future guests should be aware of this indifference to customer experience.

Disappointing

Liked: Beds were ckmfortable.
Disliked: This property has no on-site staff. You are given a key code to an outside door. The door mechanism upon entering the code is very sketchy.. you have to jiggle the handle back and forth and it takes a number of tries… this is anxiety inducing as you aren’t sure it is going to work particularly if you come back late from dinner and their phone assistance ends at 8 pm. It wasn’t just us, another couple arrived at the same time and had the same trouble. This is very basic… if you are going to do a remote entry it should be easy to use.Additionally, it is clear that the owners management are not checking the units… we encountered a broken shower bracket for raising and lowering the shower head and burnt out light bulbs. As there is no one to complain to there is no fix…. There was no milk for coffee in the machine in the common area our first morning. Carpets are dirty and our unit could you use a coat of paint. Could be a great property if the owners management took care of it. We will not stay there again…. The crappy lock is enough of a deal breaker.

Pleasant , good location for...

Liked: The room was pleasant and adequate for a two night stay Rooms were very clean Room was quite spacious and well equippedNo hairdryer that I could see but iron and ironing board. There was an area for makings for a cup of coffee/ tea on the mid floor We used the park and ride at Redbridge , this apartment was near the first stop, the police station. Easy access to main area for pubs and restaurants We were there for a graduation ceremonyAccess code was provided in a timely manner.Normal check out was 11am with later if requested.Good communications.
Disliked: You access the rooms via a doorway( near Ladbrokes) on the street . There is one flight of stairs to the first rooms and a coffee making area..There is a very narrow metal staircase to access rooms 9 and 10 on the next floor up . We booked an executive room room 9- so no lift. This room overlooked the street , so there was some noise until the early hours There was another access at the back of the building for other rooms - but we did not see those I would say not suitable for people with mobility issues/ elderly

Convenient but impersonal hotel. No...

Liked: Good location in centre of Oxford
Disliked: No staff interaction as guests just let themselves in with keycode. Carpets stained, walls scuffed. Room had no window only a skylight which let in noise from aircon units in the roof. No cleaning of rooms over 3 days.
