The Spotlight on Murrayfield Hotel

Classic Charm Just Steps from Edinburgh’s Music Action

Modern convenience meets traditional Scottish charm at the Murrayfield Hotel, a cozy, well-appointed stay located near Murrayfield Stadium and just a mile from Edinburgh’s vibrant city center. With free Wi-Fi, on-site dining, and a warm pub atmosphere, this hotel blends classic style with modern comforts. Whether you're in town for a stadium show or catching live music downtown, you're never far from the stage.

Why Concert-goers love it

Just a short walk or quick bus ride to major venues like Murrayfield Stadium and central Edinburgh, the location is a dream for music lovers. The hotel is located right on a main bus route, with frequent late-night buses making post-show travel easy. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting after a loud gig, plus the option to check in from 14:00 and sleep in until 11:00 the next day. Free parking is a bonus for road-trippers heading to a show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends – spacious deluxe rooms perfect for sharing
  • Solo travelers – safe, central, and welcoming
  • Couples – ideal for a romantic weekend with a gig on the side
  • Fans needing quiet recovery – restful rooms and a laid-back vibe
  • Budget-conscious travelers – value perks like free parking and Wi-Fi

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s pub and restaurant offer a mix of traditional Scottish dishes and international favorites, great for a pre-show meal or post-concert bite. While 24/7 room service isn't available, the on-site bar serves late, and there are plenty of walkable food options nearby. Breakfast is available and generously timed for those who partied into the night.

Nightlife Options

The hotel bar provides a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere with live sports and daily entertainment. It’s a great spot to start your night or wind down after a gig. Plus, with Edinburgh’s bustling bar scene just a short ride away, you’re never far from the action.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s characterful décor, comfy beds, and friendly staff. Many reviewers highlight the quality of the deluxe rooms in Murrayfield House and the convenience of the location for both concerts and sightseeing. The beer garden and pub get consistent praise for their atmosphere and food.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms in the main building can be a bit dated compared to the deluxe options. If you're picky about modern interiors, opt for a room in the newer Murrayfield House. Soundproofing is generally good, though light sleepers might want to request a room away from the road.

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to Edinburgh for a concert, the Murrayfield Hotel offers charm, comfort, and convenience—all just minutes from the music.

Perfect hotel, perfect weekend!

Liked: The hotel was lovely, room was a very good size and had everything we needed. The bar was lovely and the staff were so lovely! Perfect spot just 10 mins into the centre on a bus and parking was perfect at the hotel. Great spot for when you’re done with the hustle and bustle and just want to put your feet up!
Disliked: We had a fantastic stay for two night however, our first night there were kids running up and down the stairs, slamming doors. I told hotel reception who had a quiet word, they continued so I confronted them myself which seemed to do the trick. Not the hotels fault at all, parents fault for leaving small children in a room whilst they go for a meal.

Best place I could have...

Liked: They upgraded us. It was very unexpected and nice of them. The room had us dazzled and it gave on the little garden behind. Waking up to it was a delight and we even had a little fox cross it once. The hotel is very accessible to visit old town Edinburgh and the airport is 15 min away. Which was very practical for our early flights. The room was clean with a mini fridge and all type of accessories, the bathroom was clean and huge and very nice for couples. The bathroom door is made of smoked glass which doesn’t allow a lot of sound proofing if anyone is shy about their business. I personally like more privacy but honestly, it didn’t bother me as much as I thought.
Disliked: Nothing not to like.
