Nice enough hotel but rooms...

Liked: Rooms were clean but compact
Disliked: I didn’t like the sliding doors to toilet and shower. Compact rooms. Didn’t like the location of hotel

Liked: Great style.
Disliked: included breakfast: only thing included were unfrozen industrial muffins in plastic bags, and a banana after we complained. No other option than apple juice in small bottles. And not even proper tables to eat... (let's say all is made just to grab and go...). They have some nice pastries and croissants and coffee options, but those are not included ! totally unacceptable and not aligned with the standard this hotel would like to have. Plus, there is a supposedly nice rooftop in the hotel. This was the major reason why we booked it. But we were denied access, even just to take some pictures, because we had two kids (9 and 11). This was not advertised. And totally unacceptable as well.

Liked: I had good service. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the staff were all lovely.
Disliked: I was very disappointed with a “destination fee” charge added to the price of my stay. I did not know this would be an extra fee, this fee is on top of city tax and admin and the price of the room.

Disliked: I paid for a corner view room (Corner King) - only this was really only a single view aspect view, as the second window faced the other guest hotel rooms and a building site. The single aspect view I did have was of the Empire State building and it was mesmerising watching the traffic flow down with the flickering lights on at night, and so I was happy with this.Early hours of Sunday morning 3.30am I had to call down reception and ask when the music would stop. I was referring to the hotel Rood Terrace as the music was banging and keeping me awake even from my room on the 11th floor. I myself like a party, but 3:30 am to be kept awake in your room, it’s a little harsh.

Great stay

Liked: Location, cleanliness, great value for money, doorman Alex was wonderful, quick snacks and coffee to grab for breakfast
Disliked: Lack of hangers in the room to hang towels, room was small so no wardrobe for clothes but that apparently is normal as the hotel rooms are small in NY
