Well located, but expensive hotel...

Liked: clean and modern hotel in a good city location
Disliked: The vibe was 'too cool for school' with the bar also serving as the reception area and I felt the staff weren't particularly friendly.No one helped me with my bags.There wasn't any coffee in my room - I was misled to believe that there would be a coffee machine, but the only coffee was in the foyer after 6.30 am

This place is a rip...

Liked: It was close to town.
Disliked: The rooms are tiny, the hotel has no style or charm, no coffee maker, lousy pillows and it’s loud. The air/heat system sounds like there is a train running through the room. It’s like a hostel, which would be fine if it cost $30, but it was $300. Ridiculous.

I had expected something different,...

Liked: The Moxy is a boutique hotel with its own vibe. You have to love it. The location was excellent, on the border of the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Breakfast is very limited, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Disliked: The rooms are relatively small. Good bed and nice bathroom, but no wardrobes, no mini fridge and a very small desk that is not really suitable for working on a laptop. The first night I had a room at the front. It was awful, noisy not only because of the traffic but mainly because of the comedy club and disco opposite the hotel. The other five nights I had a room at the back. It was a whole different world.

Liked: the most was small and cozy and in a perfect area to enjoy yourself and bar hop.
Disliked: no complaints.

Disliked: Staff ignored us and seemed bothered to help us. The valet service sucked and woke us up early to say we needed to move our car when they had the keys and didn't move it all night because it was a stick
