Very very annoying
Liked: It is a new, well equipped hotel with comfortable rooms and beds.
Disliked: The staff significantly impacted on our stay by failing to advise us of road closures near the hotel on the morning of our departure that were due to Anzac Day marches. We were stranded at the hotel for 3 hours and this caused us serious inconvenience.

Plenty more choices for accommodation...
Liked: location was good for a brief walk to the markets and wharf
Disliked: the deluxe harbour view rooms (yes at a premium price), located right outside the Hobart clock tower, not good if light sleeper, on the hour / half hour and 15mins ..dong dong dong 🤪Breakfast, would recommend going to local cafe, buffet is shambles, toaster doesn’t toast, unless it goes through 3 times, oh , put your catcher mitt on, to catch your toast as it comes out, i lost a piece to the floor on the second loop😝, condiments you have to find your own bowl to take some back to table , makes an interesting mess when trying to have some honey…coffee from pod machine - little muddy..pay for a barista one..very little room in buffet section, basically a corridor between 2 rooms.TV was buffering all the time, we mentioned to reception whom blamed it being a new system- no fix.

Monica deserves a salary increase.
Liked: Our experience with Movenpick was so wonderful and mostly attributed to Monica on reception when we checked in and throughout our stay she was so incredible! She is the best representative of not only Mövenpick but also Tasmania. Our trip was so special because of her care and genuine want for us to have a perfect time as a family.
Disliked: No swimming pool and the staff at breakfast were just okay.

The worst choice ever for...
Liked: Great location, just right in the CBD, easy to shop around
Disliked: We booked a room and requested away from elevators and exit doors upon booking. However, we didn't get informed till we saw the room. Suggested light sleepers and people who have little ones with them not to choose harbour view rooms as they are all located next to the elevator and exit doors. The sound of elevators can be heard quite clearly from our room. In our first room, the TV wasn't working either and the staff couldn't fix it. We have no choice but to move to the exact same room type on a different floor (obviously no one cares about our booking request at all). We even had an unpleasant experience when having brekkie at their restaurant for two days. The staff didn't get trained well, as they could choose to refuse to serve certain tables and go to the next based on their preferences. The staff couldn't even remember how many nights we were staying with them as they kept treating us like it was our first day here even we had our last day having brekkie with them (could’ve to try to dine outside cause not worth for paying the extra breakfast). We were being told about the public holiday surcharge by an Asian lady but she didn't tell the other tables around us (thought that it was a must to tell everyone), feeling offended.
